No Internet connectivity when using Advanced DMZ

This morning I noticed that my UDM Pro showed a no internet connectivity and my WAN IP being my external IP. After restarting my Bell modem, toggling advanced DMZ, and restarting my UDM Pro, I still had no internet connectivity (and my WAN IP being my external IP). Should I turn off Advance DMZ and allow my UDM Pro to get an internal IP, I am able to connect to the internet. 

Did something change on the Bell side? Why would I get no internet connectivity using Advance DMZ?

Need to put the DECO pods in AP mode, either using WiFi or ethernet backhaul.

See here.  The home hub is also your root router in that diagram. The first pod needs to be wired to the home hub, the rest can be wired or wireless although wired backhaul is always preferred for stability and speed.

Yes, all fair, and I know about that. But I also hate how the Gigahub manages networks. And prefer the Deco android app and notifications. Which is why I'd prefer ADMZ

I tested the AP mode just because, and my speed dropped by a third too.

AP mode works best with an ethernet backhaul. When using a Wireless backhaul the speeds between the pods will be affected.

Even using it in wired AP mode is slower than wireless Router mode double natted. It slowed me down by about a quarter to a third. Wirelessly on my phone it dropped to a tenth of the promised speed. Using it double natted gives me the full speeds Bell promises, through the mesh network not even on ADMZ. And running cables everywhere defeats the purpose of utilizing the 'wireless mesh network' of the Deco system.

So AP configuration is a no go, it's slows down too much wirelessly, which is most devices in my home.

So would the SFP+ thing you mentioned work for me? Get the SFP router and hook the Deco to it?

SFP only works if you have the HH3000, as that has a removable GPON module. The HH4000 does not have a removable GPON module.

Unplug everything and trying to reboot.

I had the same issue as the OP. A Unifi Cloud Gateway (UCG) connected to my HH4000 10Gb port put into Advanced DMZ (ADMZ). The UCG had an external IP address, but no internet.

I solved it by enabling PPPOE on the external interface in Unifi Console, and putting in my Bell net account credentials that you get when you first get the service.

Note: You will need to be able to connect to the internal IP address of the Unifi device that is your gateway — by default this is 192.168.1.1  but if you changed that you'll need to remember what it was and use that IP instead. You may get an SSL warning when accessing it locally, you can bypass this.

Once you get into the Unifi console:

1. Go to Settings -> Internet
2. Click on the WAN interface, in my case it was "Primary (WAN1)"
3. Switch to "Manual" configuration
4. Change "IPv4 Connection" type to PPPOE
5. Check ON Username and Password, and enter your Bell credentials
6. Save changes.
