No box available for writing text in email

Has Webmail been updated again? For the last few days I cannot write any text in a Compose, Reply, or Forward email. If I try any of those functions I get the usual window with all the options (To, Send, Save, etc.) but there is no place for me to actually type any text.

Oddly, this problem does not happen with my other Sympatico accounts. All the settings are the same across accounts.

I use Safari Version 12.1.2 (12607.3.10), which I know is old, but this problem started in the past several days.

What's going wrong and how do I fix it?

The browser version of your Safari is from 2019 and is most likely out of date causing the issue. We would recommend updating your browser or continue using Firefox or another browser.

Have you tried clearing your browser history / cache?
Are you able to write a text when trying on a different device / browser?
How are you accessing your email?

Thanks for getting back to me. Clearing the browser cache and history make difference. I don't have this problem when accessing mail from my iPad. On my Mac desktop I access Sympatico email through Bell's Webmail.

My problem is similar but not exact. For the past few days when I try to respond to an email, there is a blue box around the perimeter, and the familiar flashing "I" but my keyboard strokes don't register -- it is treating the box like a PDF "object" -- complete in itself, you cannot add anything. I do not know how to change the settings to fix this.

The problem persists across my sympatico email addresses. Clearing history and cache doesn't help. I can login okay to view emails but I can't reply, compose, or do anything except delete. it is like none of the scripts associated with buttons works, and there is no window to write a message in. The problem is so frustrating that I have given up trying to use Safari with sympatico and have now downloaded Firefox, which so far seems to work.

I have a very similar problem. Typing text goes Nederland and then prevents me from doing anything else with email. I use the most recent version of SAFARI and also deleted cache and history items. I’m going to try a different browser.
