Red port on modem

I am currently utilizing all 4 ports on the back of my modem, there is a red port still available. Can I plug a network cable into it?

Hi @Michele1

No, you can't plug a cable into the red port, if you need to add another device (like a computer). That port is used when someone wants to add their own router.

You could get an ethernet switch. On this one (see image), you would have four ports for devices, and the fifth one connects to one of the ports on the modem.

Hope this helps.
