Text saying I have an installation appointment scheduled - Is this text a scam?

I got a text message from a number Bell has previously used saying I have an installation appointment scheduled in a few days. But I haven't scheduled an installation, nor am I expecting one. There's a link to view or reschedule the appointment, but I don't want to click it when I'm unsure about it.

How do I determine if this is legitimate / should I do anything about it?

I tried checking My Bell to see if it had any info about upcoming services/installation, but I didn't see anything. I'm not going to be home on the day scheduled, so if this is legitimate, I need to reschedule it.

I would treat this message as a Scam! You should delete this message if you are unsure & you are not aware of a scheduled appointment.

Without seeing the text, it is next to impossible for me to advise you on the legitimacy of this text.

Remember one thing. "Do not give out anything to anyone you do not know or trust! Do not share personal information. Do not open links or messages in Emails or text messages!"

When in doubt, always play it safe and never click on any link. It is far better to be safe than sorry!

You can reconfirm this appointment by contacting Bell at: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) or *611 from any Bell mobile device.

I have include the following link that best describes Bell's Manage Your Appointment Tool

Manage your appointment : The Manage Your Appointment tool (bell.ca)

Caution is the better part of valor! STAY SAFE & BE CAREFUL!

Thank you; good advice - I was looking for a Bell number to call too.

Good news - it's not a scam.  I was talking to my stepmom, and it turns out she's switching providers to Bell and put me down as a backup.  Looks like whoever she was talking to misunderstood and put my number down as the one to send text messages to.

Mystery solved!
