Hey there @aaronpaulg, welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.

That is definitely odd and we will be happy to troubleshoot together.

To get started a few details will be needed;

  • What is the make and model of your phone and is the OS/IOS updated to it's latest version?
  • Where are you located and is the issue happening indoors, outdoors or both?
  • Have you checked out I have questions about using Wi-Fi CallingOpens in a new tab or window on Bell.ca to make sure it was registered correctly?
  • We also recommend you check out our How To document Troubleshooting voice callsOpens in a new tab or window

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for the screenshots @aaronpaulg

Your iPhone 14 Pro is set up in a way that it will connect to the strongest available network where you are at the time of making/receiving calls. When your phone changes frequencies while being on a call, it is possible for the call quality to fluctuate.

  • Have you checked your eSIM setting information (if equipped) to make sure it was all saved correctly?

The iPhone 14 Pro doesn't have a VoLTE icon. You can learn more about your phones icons and symbols on Apple.ca at Status icons and symbols on your iPhoneOpens in a new tab or window

In order to troubleshoot further, we will need to know where you're located (please limit this answer to town/city name and if issue is mainly happening indoors/outdoors).

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Based on our findings, multiple iPhone users with IOS 16 are having similar issues.

Apple is in the process of implementing a fix. Keep an eye out for any upcoming IOS updates.

Hi. Yes. I use iPhone 14 Pro and iOS 16.

this happens to me every time. My phone is never connected to wifi calling or on votle. I can’t use internet when on call. And also calls drop very often. Tried all the troubleshooting but still the same

Hey there @aaronpaulg. Thanks for the additional information.
Can you clarify where you are located and if the issue happens indoors, outdoors or both?
Is Wi-Fi calling turned on in your settings?
Also, under Cellular Data Options / Voice & Data / make sure 5G is on.
Keep the Community posted.

I have the same issue with my Pixel 6 running Android 14. When I check my IMS Status, it says it's "Not registered"

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

It is happening to me with iPhone15 and someone from technical support told me that the issue is with the iPhone, but it is brand new? So I went with Apple and they said that there is nothing wrong with the device it self, so was told to go back with Bell. I’m back with Bell and someone else told me that the issue is related with porting that should take 24 to 48 hours but for me it is over 5 days, so no improvement. So gain in chat as they aren’t able to call me as calls are going to the voicemail, but I’m not getting any notification. However, some today told that need to activate SIM card instead of eSIM, as I have activated my three lines online, so no physical store in my contract at all. The agent said he ordered the SIM cards for me so this will be the way to resolve the issue. Looking to get the SIM cards and let you know how it goes.

It depends on whether you are using SIM or eSIM. If you are using an eSIM, I woukd strongly recommend Chang it to a physical SIM card, as I had the same issue, and it was fixed. Also, as it is an APN issue, I did reset my iohines to the factory setting and activated it again. Do these steos and yiur issue will disapaer.
