I recently upgrade to a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra from an S24 Ultra. I have Bell Mobility SIM. When I enabled WiFi calling on the S24 I would get a handset icon in the status bar top right corner. I have enabled WiFi calling on my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra , but no longer get the handset icon indicating it's enabled just the usual carrier bars. I've toggled it on and set the 4 digit code that gets texted. So is it enabled or not and how can I te

Bell did something during my last chat with their support, and it is now working. I didn't think it was at first because the WiFi calling icon in the status bar doesn't show up until you pull down the quick menu, a baffling design change in Android 15. However, the icon is now there, and also the phone app's keypad shows a Wifi calling icon for the dialer button.

Good Day.
Once you've set up Wi-Fi calling, you can make a call over Wi-Fi just like any other call. When you're connected to the internet, you'll see "Internet Call" or "Wi-Fi calling" on the notification screen.
Before you can make calls over Wi-Fi, you'll need to turn on the feature in your settings.
- Open the Phone app
- Tap More Settings
- Tap Calls.
- Tap Wi-Fi calling.

To confirm this, make sure that your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network. A strong network connection is necessary to use this feature. Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the Quick settings panel / Control Panel. Check that the Wi-Fi icon is activated.

I'm not sure you actually read my question. I know how to turn on WiFi calling. My question is: on all my my previous Samsung phones, when WiFi calling was activated I had a combined handset and WiFi icon in the status bar. With my Samsung S25 Ultra, I do not get that icon. So how do I know it is activated? Maybe I should just have a chat with Bell support and see what they have to say. As far as I know WiFi calling is not some extra feature you have to subscribe to. If your phone supports it, you should be able to have it activated.

Hey there @csewell ,
Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.
To ensure your plan meets the Wi-Fi Calling requirements, you can check out I have questions about using Wi-Fi Calling
. As for the Icon, many times when a new phone model comes out, the icons doesn't always match the icons of the older models. We suggest checking out the phones user guide and/or contacting the manufacturer directly.
Let the community know if you have more questions.

Interesting. I went to the the "I have questions page" and the first thing I saw was:
How do I know that I am able to make a Wi-Fi call?
Once you see the Wi-Fi Calling indicator on the status bar of your device, you can make a Wi-Fi call. Wi-Fi calling uses the same native dialler and contact list on your device as for cellular, making it easy to use.
And that's just the problem. I have no WiFi calling indicator on the status bar that I had with all the previous Samsung phones I owned and connected to the Bell network. And I'm sure Android 15/OneUI 7 didn't suddenly do away with the WiFi calling indicator just to mess with people.
The upshot is I chatted with Bell Mobility support and they told me the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and S25 series in general do not support WiFi calling at this point. I find this problematic since Bell Mobility actually sells this phone without telling anyone about this missing feature. And they've probably had months to prepare for the release which makes their lack of foresight especially aggravating.

After I had updated my phone Samsung S 25 und restarted the phone. No Wi-Fi calling was possible. Wi-Fi phoning is the only option for me. I live about 300km of Williams Lake BC there is the nearest Bell store for me. That means 300km for and back = 600km driving and that in the wintertime by icy roads!
I phoned Bell by my landline phone. Landline is not working all the time, so I'm happy to have my Bell phone. But if it works...
The nice technical support of Bell let me reset the phone and said she will send me a new Sim Card. The best thing you can do she said go to your Bell store bring your new Sim Card and all things will be fixed.
My next drive to Williams Lake will be at on Jan. 21.
the other thing is I'm not able to make Wi-Fi phone calls over 3 weeks.
That all happens not for the first time. I'm so frustrated.
My question is. Is there not another way to connect my phone to Bell phone service? Maybe a way I could connect
myself.

Good Day & Welcome.
You generally need some cellular signal (or at least have activated it under coverage) to initially enable Wi-Fi Calling.
Once activated, your phone will automatically use a Wi-Fi connection for calls and texts when cellular service is poor or unavailable. The feature relies on your carrier's (Bell Mobility) network for setup, even if calls then route over Wi-Fi.
You need to be able to connect to the network before you can activate Wi-Fi calling on your Samsung S25.
Take care.
