Received a phone call from a Scammer claiming to offer Bell promotions. 705-40*-*** is the number that called me. Asked who they would like to speak to, and she had no clue to who she called.

Hello… I’m just a customer but wanted to say it’s still happening. They are spoofing real numbers. Seems they always use the same area code that your number's in. I’ve tried a few times to call the number and let the real owner of the number to let them know. Just got a call and the person didn’t seem to care 🤷‍♂️. Don’t know what more one can do? Look up Jim Browning on YouTube. He, and a huge group of caring people, exposes phone, email scams. He even worked with CBC. Look him up.
cheers!

im getting phone calls about getting my services  less 50%   i don't want to give them any information as i am afraid this is a scammer    how do i find out if this call is legit

There is an old saying that says, "If it sounds too good to be true, it's not true." In this case, it's not true. It's not legitimate.

The calls are from criminals looking for you to give them your Bell account details, credit card number and banking information in order to commit a crime by ordering a new phone, having it delivered to them and then sticking you with the bill or trying to use your banking and credit card information to gain access to your accounts.

Just hang up. Don't give the caller any information. Nothing. Just say, "I'm not interested" if you say anything at all. The criminal will quickly move on and you won't be victimized by them.

thanks    these calls are getting really annoying       i told them nothing

I am an ex-Bell  mobility plan holder. I got a call today from +1 866-90*-****. It appeared as Bell Canada on my Phone even though I don't have a true caller. The lady on phone said that I can switch my current provider (rogers) to Bell for Mobility plan of 35 GB for 29CAD after the credits and the credits will not expire. I asked if I can avail this at stores, then she told it's not and it's a loyalty thing that can only be done through call. Is it legit? she booked a call for another day to do the switching.

Good Day.

I am not aware of a promo such as this one that you mention.

Caution is the Better part of Valor. If it is too good to be true, it may not be true

I have included a web link to the current online mobility plans being offered.

Unlimited Data Plans | Bell Mobility | Bell Canada

If unsure, reach out to Bell Mobility Customer Service & ask them to confirm this promotion. To contact Bell Mobility please call: 1 888 4-MOBILE (662453)

When in doubt & you are not sure of who you are talking to, do not offer up any personal information. Share nothing with the caller.

Similar scam attempt today.

Local caller number, had a Bell name and id. This caller knew all of my information (mobility number, address, email). They did not ask for any personal information. Similar offer of loyalty discount of 15% for 12 months and an iPad. Nothing to do on my part ‘just confirm our conversation that you received the text’. The unrequested text was a verification number to reset account. Obviously hung up at that point, changed my password, and contacted Bell fraud line.

These scams are getting more sophisticated and will clearly catch those that are unaware.

Good Day!

Kudos to you! You did everything right.

When in doubt, hangup! Say nothing, share nothing! As you already known, this was not Bell calling. It was a fraudster trying to scam you.

Never share any personal information with anyone you do not know or trust! Do not open web links or messages in emails or text messages!

Would Bell Canada employees ever phone me and offer 40% off my bill because I pay my bill on time regularly ?

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

Bell did not call you. This was a fraudster impersonating Bell who was trying to scam you in to believing that he was the real thing. His goal was to steal from you!

"Hang up". Do not give them the time of day or the personal satisfaction of adding you to their fraudster list.

Reputable companies such as Bell, banks, utilities & highly regarded services & institutions do not send you messages or make calls such as this! They do not call you asking to provide personal information.

Never share any personal information with anyone you do not know or trust! Do not open web links or messages in emails or text messages! Fraudsters & scammers today do this by masking their name & number & impersonating a supplier.

If in doubt, hang up! Call Bell & check it out! It is far better to be safe than sorry!
