Can I change my billing date

Can I change the billing date for my accounts? The date that was arbitrarily assigned is inconvenient and is out of sync with every other household bill I pay.

Is it possible to change the billing date? I would like to have my billing date set to the First of every month.

For years my billing date was the 15th. Bell just changed it to the 6th. I do not recall seeing any notice, is that legal? This messes up my cash flow but I am sure the Bell Treasury department is laughing.   The automated chat is used and  I don't want to spend hours on the phone does anyone have a good email?

It is best that you contact Bell Customer Service beforehand for an explanation on your billing dates. If need be, you can ask to speak to a manager on line.

Has anyone noticed changes to their due date on bell payments. I went from the payment being due on 15th of the month to the 9th. It was my understanding that this date would not change.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

Billing dates do not change. Bell must receive your full payment within 30 days of your billing date. Thirty days after your billing date is your due date. All calendar months are not 30 days. Some months are 28, 30 & 31 days. On a leap year, such as 2024, there are 29 days.

If you log in to your MyBell account with any web browser & select One Bill you can verify what I am saying. You will notice that all of your previous historical bills plus the current bill have the same billing date. You can check and verify your payment date for each of these monthly bills. You will notice that the payment date are not necessarily the same. The payment dates are when Bell received your payment in full for that monthly bill.

How you pay your bill & when you pay your bill is entirely up to you. Your bill will always be due 30 days after your billing date.

The processing time depends on the payment method you use. This must be considered by you when making your bill payment. Please see the table in the link that I have provided below:

Actually that wasn’t my question. I know the dates you are bill for does not change. However, I have noticed that the due date for payment has change from the 15th of every month to the 9th of every month.

Have you changed your method of payment?

Speaking for myself, I pay my bill using Bell’s pre-authorized method of payment. I never miss a payment. When posted on your MyBell account, One Bill section, you are provided with the upcoming payment date. E.g. “Payment date August 30, 2024 “. It is processed on this date. My account is generally updated by my bank within a few days after this date. The transaction date will vary depending on when it is processed & posted by my credit card company. This posting date is affected by the day of the week, & time of day. (Business hours: M-F excluding Holidays.)

I can only suggest that you once again refer to the approximate processing times I have provided earlier. If you need  further clarification or assistance, you should contact Bell Customer Service accounts & billing and your financial institution | credit card company.

Again not helpful, if Bell changes the date the payment is due, even if you have it set up for the payment to come out of your bank account for payment to be received by Bell  let say on the 15 th of every month because that was the date is was due for the year previously and the due date  is changed to the 9th of the month, you’ll still be late in paying. I don’t have a problem paying my bill, it was just nice for it to be due on the 15 of the month instead of now being the 9th. I think it is rude to assume I was late paying my bill and that was the issue. The question I wanted answered is this a standard practice by Bell to change the due date for payment? simple as that.

You may once again feel that this reply is: "Again not helpful". Should you require more specific billing date, due date & processing time information, it might be best for you to contact Bell Customer Service accounts & billing and your financial institution. is this seriously the only response that can be given? my mother has 2 services with bell. she receives her pension at the end of each month. she is a senior, who lives month to month off of this money. her bill date is around the 10th of each month and due 5 days before she has her money. it would be extremely helpful if her billing due date was changeable.it is a new account, and i am the one who set up her preauthorized payment to be paid on the specified date but, if for some reason the payment method were to be declined then she will get penalized and her services may be compromised. videotron, her cell phone provider, is always paid on the perfect date and there is little to no chance of that service being compromised. good thing because if she ever needs to reach me it wont be an issue. overall point being, she is meticulous about paying on time, just like everyone else asking this question so a broader form of context would be appreciated

I am not sure I follow your rationale. In any event, it is not recommended that you change your billing date, however if you so desire, you can do so.

Hi there I am a new bell customer and my payment date is the 18th of May but I need it moved to the end of the month to fit into my other obligation payments. How do I do this? Do I have to wait to call? Will they even let me chage the date without it affecting my plan? Or is there a way to do it myself on the app?
