How long does it take for my internet upgrade to become effective?

Recently upgraded my bell package from 500Mbps to 1Gbps. Still stuck at roughly 500Mbps.  How long does it take for the upgrade to become effective? Is there something I need to do for 1Gbps to become effective?

Your service upgrade would be complete by end of day on the date scheduled in your order confirmation.

If you don't notice any changes on that date, a simple reboot may be required.
