phone return timeline

Someone else's experience may not be relevant, but still - how long would be a 'normal' interval between receiving my device (by Bell, according to Canada Post's receipt) and the arrival at the warehouse? Where is it stored in the meantime, if not there? Did they lose it, or is this a matter of slow status update? Because it's been more than a week since the delivery, confirmed by CP, and the return status in my account is unchanged: item shipped, not yet received at the warehouse.

Hey there @514 ,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post.

When returning a phone, processing times may vary and delays may occur for different reasons. Not to worry as the second your return is processed, you will receive a confirmation email to let you know.

We have a great support page titled How do returns and refunds work?Opens in a new tab or window on Bell.ca that will shed some light on phone returns.

Thank you, I noticed a return status update, acknowledging the phone's presence at the warehouse. The delay was 10 calendar days

I returned a brand new phone. Wasn't what I wanted.  After 3 weeks of waiting to have them take it off my bill so I can go into the store to get the phone I want, the email said I will recieve the credit in one to two billing cycles. Does that mean 2 months???? Are you kidding me???

Two months ago, I returned my cellphone to Bell and I still haven't received the expected credit for the return. I've reached out to their customer service team multiple times, but they can't provide me with any clear information about the expected processing time for my refund. On top of that, I've received a bill for the device that I no longer possess and Bell is pressuring me to pay for it or face the consequences of being sent to a collection agency.

It doesn't seem reasonable to me that Bell would continue to charge me for a device that I've already returned. I would appreciate your help in resolving this issue and ensuring that I'm not unfairly charged. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

How long does it take to process a return

it was received at the warehouse Feb 9,2023 at 11:13 am

all i get is the run around when i call

these items were never delivered to me

I had returned my cell phone after cancelling my service at around the 1 month left till I renew mark.  I returned it to a certain store and they said they would have to manually return it as my previous plan was split away from my ex who has the original agreement.  My Bill now keep saying that I owe the $460 for the phone when I know I returned it.   How does this make sense. I’ve been in contact with multiple people saying it just takes time but it’s been two months now.  What do I do? I’m not paying $460 for something I know I returned.

Hello, I returned my old device almost 1 month ago but the full payment amount was still charged on my latest bill. I am not paying 720$ upfront and hoping they refund it.

How long should it take to process my sevice return?

Refunds

Method of refund

Only the account holder can request a refund.

We will refund your money in the same way that you paid.
Note: A no return/no refund policy applies to all clearance phones.

Bell account

  • If you billed your purchase to your Bell Canada account, the refund will appear on your next statement or on the one following, depending on your billing date.

Credit cards

  • The card used will be credited with the refund.
  • If a prepaid credit card was used, you will receive your refund by cheque.
  • If your card has expired, the credit will automatically be transferred to your new card. If you still don’t receive your credit, a letter from the credit card provider, stating that the credit wasn’t received, is required before a cheque can be mailed.

How long does it take?

It can take 3-4 weeks to receive a refund under normal circumstances.

Mobility

For mobile phones, PDAs, pagers, telephones or accessories, you’ll receive a refund 60 to 90 days after we receive and verify the items you’ve returned.

TV

The refund balance for a TV service is held for 60 days (2 billing cycles) following the final bill, as other charges may apply (video on demand, pay-per-view, etc.)

Internet and Home phone

The refund balance for a Home phone or Internet service is held for 30 days (1 billing cycle) following the final bill, as other charges may apply (usage, long distance
charges, etc.)

I upgraded my phone online, however, once received and did not like it.  I returned it as per policy, sending it back to the return center.

In average, how long does it take to get an email notification that it was received.

I'm asking because I still want to upgrade my phone, just a different model than I originally received.

When you shipped your return, you should of been given a receipt by either Canada Post or Purolator. Keep this receipt as this is your proof of shipping. It also includes a serial tracking number on it for you to follow up on the delivery & return process.

You should be able to go on line tomorrow & at least see some form of shipping status.

I would wait till you receive confirmation from the return center that it has been received. It needs to be returned with all of the appropriate packaging, manual, receipt, etc. It also needs to be verified & processed to your account. This would normally take 5-7 business days from the time it is dropped off & mailed or sent by courier. There are only 3 business days left this week & there may be 3 more next week. If you are asking my opinion on when Bell will receive your return on a Christmas shipment, I can only speculate that it will not be this week, maybe late next week. There are no guarantees of delivery this week from any couriers or Canada Post on shipments going out after Wednesday.

Thanks for your response.  Bell return center received the package on Dec. 17, at 12:30 p.m.

I updated my iPhone 14 to a iPhone 15 pro, I didn’t like the small screen so I sent it back. Buyers remorse, bell has received the iPhone 15 pro back. How long does it take to reset my account so I can order the iPhone 15 pro max? I need a phone ASAP. Everything is done through my phone.

Have you received a confirmation from the return center that it has been received? That is the first step in this process. You should also have a serial tracking number for you to follow up on the delivery & return process.

If you have received this confirmation from the return centre, they will verify the device & all of the appropriate packaging, manual, receipt, etc. has been returned & will process this to your to account. This would normally take 5-7 business days from the time it is dropped off & mailed or sent by courier. If you are asking my opinion on when Bell will update your return on a Holiday shipment, I can only speculate that it will be late next week if as you suggest Bell has already received your return.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Take care.
