I need to add Roam Better to my monthly Mobility package. How do I do that….for the US?

You can add it now. There is no charge for this add-on feature until it is actually used outside of Canada or comes in contact with a USA supplier. If you are receiving or making calls, texts, sending pictures, emails, using social media, etc. in the USA, then you will only be charged for that day only. If you do not wish to use it in the USA on certain days, then turn the device data & roaming off & turn Airplane mode on.

I need a better roaming/data package for Hawaii. I select USA package of $100 but then it says I can’t go back to my previous package
any advice?

Good Morning. Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.
You received a warning advising you that if you choose to change your add-on package, you can not go back. You need to decide whether you want to keep what you currently have or make the change to something else.
That is a decision that only you can make.
You can log in to MyBell to make the switch. In MyBell, select your mobile phone service, enter your travel destination and if the destination is covered by Roam Better, you’ll see both Roam Better options, with your current option pre-selected. To switch, simply select Roam Better – with home data and submit the order.

I am in currently in Infia. I had deactivated roam. If i need to get messages and other services i want to activate roaming wHen needed. How can i activate roaming in my phone

You can add Roam Better with home data in MyBell or Text Roam to 8000.
Whether you’re at one Roam Better international destination or travelling between multiple destinations or time zones, the Roam Better – with home data international daily fee covers you for any usage within the same day.
Roam Better with home data is $16.00 /day. The fees cover usage from the time you first use your device until 11:59 p.m. (ET) the same day, regardless of which time zone or eligible European country that you are travelling.

I was on a grandfathered plan that didn’t allow roaming in the country I was in. After upgrading my plan, how long does it take for the system to recognize the new settings? I have roaming enabled on my phone and the new plan was selected to take place immediately (not at next billing period).

If you wish, you can login to your MyBell account & verify that your account has been upgraded. If your plan allows for Roaming, you can use roaming immediately.
To get Roam Better – with home data, simply text ROAM to 8000 or add Roam Better in MyBell. Once Roam Better – with home data has been added to your account, you’ll be covered for all future trips to the U.S. and over 200 international destinations.
To remove Roam Better - with home data, simply text REMOVEROAM to 8000 or remove it in MyBell.

In theory I agree that it should work but I can confirm that although it is showing my account is upgraded I still have not recieved a welcome notice or have data or sms service.
My old account said I had roaming but it never worked. After upgrading, it still doesnt.

I trust you have followed my earlier instructions.
When you upgraded your plan, did you request for the upgrade to take place immediately or at the beginning of your next mobility billing date? Did you complete the upgrade online or did you have a Bell Mobility Customer Service representative complete this for you?
In either case, you will need to contact a Bell Mobility representative to confirm your upgrade start date if you are looking to add & use Roaming immediately.
Please call: 1 800 667-0123 or dial *611 from any Bell mobile device.
There is a onetime administration charge when requesting a service representative to complete the upgrade prior to the beginning of the next billing cycle. Once the upgrade is finalized, you can verify Roaming on your MyBell account. Select > Mobility service > Add-ons. Select > Add/ remove Add-ons. Scroll > across the top of the page. Select > Travel. Follow the onscreen instructions.

The $13 daily charge will automatically enable once you are in the USA, have cellular roaming selected in your cellphone settings, and use data, text, calling etc.
**Make sure you have the Roam Better plan activated, or you will be charged the regular data usage rates**

If you use the Bell iOS App you can easily check to verify if you have roam better. Open the App, open services at bottom of App. Then scroll to see what your current plan includes. If you have roam better it will be listed there under travel features and indicate its active.
