9242 Bell satellite receivers get no sound for certain Stingray channels

I recently found that on two of my 9242 receivers several Stingray channels appear (with music info) but no sound is available.

This is NOT the case with my 9400 receiver or my 6500 - sound is present for all Stingray channels. I have confirmed this with someone else's 9242 (no sound) and 9400 (sound).

The following channels are affected

902, 903, 904, 907, 918, 921, 927, 930, 935, 937, 938, 946

Anyone else seeing this?

Good evening,

Just wanted to follow up as we got news that the audio has now been restored on the Stingray stations. Can you test, and let me know if there are any issues?

Thank you for your concern. Have you power cycled the affected receiver? Hold the power button for five seconds and the receiver will reboot. Let us know if that works.

Thanks for the reply.

However, no luck - restarted two 9242 receivers and still no sound on the following Stingray channels:

902, 903, 904, 907, 918, 921, 927, 930, 935, 937, 938, 946

Thank you for the update. I have checked my own Bell Satellite TV installation and have confirmed that there is no audio on those channels. I will let Bell know about this. Thank you for letting us know.

Thanks for checking as well! I also called 1-888-SKY-DISH and was walked through some of the usual troubleshooting ideas - unfortunately it did not resolve the issue. They have made a ticket to escalate the situation and will contact me.

I also noticed, that in addition to the 12 Stingray channels with no audio on the 9242 receivers, there are also 6 Stingray channels on the 9400 receiver that have no audio. Meanwhile, the Fibe app has audio for all of those channels. Perhaps the Bell sat receivers need a software/firmware update.

Hey @KCB2 & @dks

Thanks for letting the Community know about this.

We have confirmed that our technical team is aware of this, and they are currently investigating. We will update you again once this is resolved.

Have a nice day 🙂

Hey @KCB2,

Thanks very much for confirming :

You mentioned previously as well that 'there are also 6 Stingray channels on the 9400 receiver that have no audio'.

Has the audio been restored on that receiver too?

@BellPatricia

Yes, the audio has also returned for the Stingray channels on the 9400.

thanks
