Hi there. Just upgraded to the 9500 receiver. Was working good then I went to change the channel and it gave me an error that the channel can only be viewed in live mode.
How does one turn this off?
thanks!

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.
You can not turn this off. The 9500 (Whole Home PVR) is a Dual tuner which allows the receiver to have 2 feeds. This would give you access to watch a live television show, while recording a show simultaneously; or it allows you to record 2 shows at once, while watching an already recorded show.
To record a program and watch something else at the same time, do the following:
- Press the RECORD button on your remote control while watching the program you wish to record. This allows you to record the program or create recurring timers.
- After you have started recording your program, simply press the up or down arrows on your remote to change channels, or choose another program from the guide.
Are you trying to select a channel that is not recordable?

Thank you for your question. This is normal. If you are watching a program and pause the program, return to the show and it comes to an end, after the pause you have been watching a recording. The receiver then requires you to return to live mode to watch a program and is telling you so. Simply respond with the appropriate button.

Good day @F1alive,
Welcome to the Bell Community 🙂
As @dks mentions above, everything is working normally. If you are watching a show and you pause it, after the pause you have been watching a recording. Once the show comes to an end the receiver will then prompt you to return to live mode to watch a program.
Please let the Community know if you have any other questions.

The issue is it does not play what was "recorded" it simply skips to live tv and I do not get to watch what was suppose to be recorded.

Hi @F1alive,
Thanks very much for your reply and for clarifying.
Does it occur when Live TV is paused for five seconds or less? Important to note: skipping to Live TV is a standard function when resuming playback within 5 seconds of pausing.
Keep me posted,

Thanks for your reply. Here are a few more details... in answer to your question, yes I pause for more than 5 seconds, usually try after 10-15 seconds. Secondly, I just has my satellite dish re-pointed as I was getting a weak signal of around 65%, it is now at 100% and issue stills occurs. Thirdly the receiver seems to start working correctly, (meaning that it properly allows to play recorded info after pausing), after being on for about 3-4 hours.
Regards, F1 alive
