Bell 9500 Satellite Receiver Missing Tuner

With my 9500 receiver I have had this issue pop up a couple times. One of the tuners completely disappears out of nowhere and shows only 1 available tuner. This is extremely annoying if you have 2 shows recording because 1 of the shows does not record, even though it shows on the PVR schedule that it is recording. Normally you have 2 tuners available so 2 shows can record at the same time and you can still watch a recording or 1 of the tuners at the same time. While this issue is happening, only 1 show will record and you can only watch a recording or that only tuner, while the other show that is supposed to be recording does not end up recording at all.

I have had the new 9500 receiver for about a month now and have never had this issue before with my old receivers. Most of the time it works correctly with both tuners available like it should be. For some reason I have had this issue happen twice now out of nowhere, but then the second tuner reappears the next day.

Thanks for the replies, The reboot worked for now, Spoke with bell and they did not deny that there wasn't a issue with the 9500 receivers, in most cases the reboot and card pull does the trick. Some cases it comes back. Why it only effects certain receivers who knows. So I guess wait and see what happens.

The tuners are still working but the timers are disappearing again, the system itself deletes the timers. No errors just the timers are removed by the system. On going issue. The last time this happened we lost the tuners shortly afterwards. I know the receiver came with a refurbished hard drive when purchased, but how do i really know is this a software issue like the tuners or something else.

Hi @Nash211
On your 9500 receiver, please check the following:
Press Menu > Select (7) Daily Schedule. If for some reason you do not see this option, go to your guide and look for a program that you have scheduled to record (you should see a little clock), press the record button on the program and then select "Timers".
Beside the program within the list that did not record, does it indicate if the recording was "Done, deleted, signal, stopped or skipped"?
Looking forward to hearing back.

BellNick:

Skipped, and not buy us the receiver just skips it

Hi @Nash211
On the 'Skipped' program, select the event and it should show some other information. Do it show any further information to why it was skipped? The options should be: "user, priority, Not a new episode, incorrect events, duplicate events, event already exists".

Says nothing just says skipped, we tried the card pull, reset etc. no difference, Just happens randomly. To be honest the receiver has been mis behaving since we got it. The remote when you scroll just takes of randomly, the guide just scrolls fast, press once on the remote and it jumps to the next selection IE delete etc. Changed the frequency at least 5 times, before it deleted some pre recordings timers,  just deleted them gone. That has improved as of late. The one tuner issue has not come back since we pulled the card and reset. The sound randomly changes, same channel one day volume is 15 next day it is 20. So yes Mis Behaving. Our old 9400 never had any issues but it was 8 years old so decided to upgrade.

Hi @Nash211
Can you check to see what your PVR storage limit is at and share it? You can do this by pressing the Menu button, go to Settings, General and then select PVR Space.

Limit is 500gb we have 75% available, remember our has a refurbished hard drive bought that way

Hi @Nash211
It sounds like you may need a receiver replacement, although before that, can you please try factory resetting the receiver and see if the issue persists? To do this, press Menu on the remote, go to Settings, scroll to Factory Defaults, select Yes.

Thanks did the Factory settings trick, no difference. This one is only 4 months old, supposedly new with a refurbished hard drive, as it says on the box. Contacted Bell they said all replacements are refurbished, so that is something to consider.

Hi @Nash211
The receiver you have may be malfunctioning and a replacement may be required. I've sent you a private message.
