Hi there @Papalach. Thank you for reaching out to the Bell Community.

If you've purchased your receiver outright you may keep it and do as you please with it.

If you rented / are renting the TV receiver, you must return it to Bell.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

I assume you are talking about a Fibe TV receiver or Bell Satellite TV. If you own it, you can sell it. You must deactivate the receiver from your account before it can be reactivated on another account. You will need to contact Bell to verify & deactivate this receiver.

Bell Fibe: 1 866 797-8686 Bell Satellite: 1 888 759-3474

Thank you for your question.

Take care.

Is there any issues or hoops I have to jump through for selling my receivers to a friend after my bell subscription is cancelled at the end of July.   I’ve had bell for about 11 years  now so the receivers should be paid off. There is a 9400 and 2x 6400’s.   friend has an old bell dish on their  house, just needs some receivers.  What’s the cost for a bell employee to come out and hook everything up if they sign up for a bell subscription?
Any info is helpful, TIA!

If you own the receivers, they are yours to do as you please. You can sell them, donate then to charity, or just dispose of them. I would check with Bell Satellite TV to confirm your ownership when you cancel your subscription.

In terms of installation & subscription costs, it is best that your friend contact Bell Satellite TV at: 1-866-845-2998 for the most up to date pricing.

Does a receiver need to be deactivated if selling it?

I've cancelled my Express Vu account and hope to sell my "owned" receivers.

Based on my past experiencing buying used equipment, I know they have to be deactivated from the prior owners account.

Please help.  I've been on the phone for nearly an hour.

The information is no longer obvious on My Bell account.  Thanks in advance.

Oops!  I guess my question should have been:  How do I deactivate my receivers online?

@BellPatricia

I want to sell my bell 9400 receiver, If it is deactivated should I sell it with the smart card?

Good Day & welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

Thank you for posting your question. There is no method for you to disconnect your Bell Satellite receiver on the Bell Community Forum. Has it been deactivated & removed from your account?

Do you still have a Bell Satellite TV service? If so, your receiver & your Smart Card would be linked to your Bell Satellite TV account. Do you own or rent this receiver?

In either case, you should confirm these details with Bell Customer Service. Please call: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) or dial *611 from any Bell mobile device.

Take care.
