Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

The VIP2262 reproduces digital audio in surround sound or stereo. Your TV should have audio setting that include Auto, PCM & Pass-through. Please refer to you TV manual & your Bluetooth audio transmitter manuals for direct connections & settings to your TV.  Have you verified that your TV would support the Bluetooth transmitter that you wishing to purchase?

Take care.

Thank you for your question. The optical output (called Toslink or SP/DIF on that receiver) is intended to connect with an A/V receiver or a computer. A thread over in Digital Home.ca, which is fairly recent, suggests that Bluetooth on the receiver is only for the remote and that you can't add other Bluetooth devices. The suggestion there is to connect Bluetooth audio devices to the TV directly, through the audio out jack or through Bluetooth pairing to the TV. The caution is that it may turn off the speakers on the TV. It may also induce audio lag. You might also wish to have the TV manual handy to sort out any possible complications if you go this route. Let us know how your experiment turns out.

Hi,
I have an old TV but want to use the fiber vip2262 optical audio to connect to an external Bluetooth transmitter --> earbuds. The transmitter I want to buy only supports PCM. TKS

Good Evening.

As mentioned earlier, I can only refer you back to the manufacturer & manuals for the external Bluetooth transmitter & your TV. What you want to do is best controlled by way of your TV settings. I would be hesitant in recommending this considering you have an old TV & looking to purchase this equipment & my knowing so little in terms of the product.

Take care.

But I don't want to connect an external bluetooth transmitter to my old tv but to the actual Bell Fibe VIP2262 PVR which has an optical audio output jack on it. I was hoping to find out if that jack supports PCM. It's been suggested that i refer to docs but I can't find my answer there. Thanks for your responses and take care also....

Thank you for your thoughts. We don’t have that depth of information available in this user to user forum. You might try a search using the model of your receiver, as it has been used by other providers. There may be others who have tried to do something similar.
