Fibe TV App HDCP Error on Mobile Phone

The Bell Fibe TV App was working great on my Motorola RAZR+ phone for several months.

After an app update some time ago, it no longer displays any channel and instead shows the following error:

"Something went wrong.  Please ensure that the TV you are using is HDCP compliant and you are casting with AirPlay or Chromecast"

I am just attempting to watch TV in the app on my phone, and I am not casting or using HDMI, so HDCP should not be an issue.

App is useless now. At least on a tv.

The 4K box is horrible so I try to use the app on my fire stick. It’s worked for years but now I get this stupid hdcp message so I have to try and unplug and reset the actual 4K receiver that is because I can’t be bothered trying to figure out why I can’t use the app anymore for anything recorded. My guess is Bell will miraculously “find” a solution and charge $30/mth more to support it. Gross. It’s you, Bell, you’re the problem, it’s you.

Greetings,

'Something went wrong Please ensure the TV you are using is HDCP compliant and that you are casting with airplay or Chromecast'

I keep getting this error on my fibe tv app on android 13 on my Odin 2 pro gaming device. Was working fine with my Odin 1 pro before on android 10.: "Error" "Something went wrong. Please ensure the TV you are using is HDCP compliant and that you are casting with airplay or chromecast."

I already tried clearing cache, clearing data, uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting all to no avail.

I'm at a loss concerning any solutions for that issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Anyone? i'm using android 13 on my Odin 2 pro from AYN and no solutions mentioned in this forum works..! Thanks.

Hi there @AP_L
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Whereas the Odin 2 Pro is not technically a mobile device and is actually a handheld gaming device, it is not compatible or designed to work with our app.

Thanks for clarification, i found a way to circumvent that: i'm using the tv.bell.ca/home website (using the "show as PC website" option in chrome android) and it's working like a charm. Just hope it stays that way, after all i'm paying for bell tv 😄

Thanks a lot!

I have had exactly the same issue trying to use fibe app on my android phone GEM works fine any suggestions?

Like i said, use chrome in desktop version in android: i'm using the tv.bell.ca/home website (using the "show as PC website" option in chrome android) and it's working like a charm.
