Fibe TV - Britbox App

Just switched over to Bell Fibe today. It seems to have given us most of our streaming channels such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, but not Britbox.

My research leads me to believe I have to download Britbox as an app. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find a download apps section.

This support page does not work because my Main Menu does not look like this:

My Main Menu has these options: Trending Now, Recordings, Guide, On Demand, Settings, Search, App Launcher, Support.

Clicking App Launcher simply takes us to the apps we already have, in a row along the bottom. I find no "Apps" option, nor any "Google Play" option.

The option to download additional TV apps on your Bell Fibe receiver is not available. Take a peak at What are apps on Fibe TV and how do I use them?to learn more.

You can check out the Bell Streamerthough. This option allows you to access Google Play apps right on your TV screen. 🙂

Hi, You are referring to a page that is for the Bell streamer, so won't have the same experience as its quite different.  Fibe TV has a small selection of built in apps, which are super useful, but it is small.  Will pass on the thought of accessing something like the google play store as an option to the prime.

Hi, I have the Bell  Streamer box and am unable to locate Britbox from Google Play on the device. Can you confirm its availability? I've had no issues finding and installing all the other major OTT apps, just Britbox.

Update: I heard from Britbox that they in fact don't have an Android TV app (which is shocking to me). At least that explains why I have been unable to find it on my Bell Stream. Shame since they seem to have a lot of connected TV apps. Hope they reallocate some of those resources towards Android.

That's too bad, hopefully they will release an app for Android TV services. I did find it in the amazon app but then it required an additional subscription.  But if you are subscribed to Britbox already then perhaps you can get to it that way (If you have Amazon Prime)

Unfortunately not, If you subscribe to Britbox via Amazon Prime Video then you can ONLY watch it through that service. If subscribed directly through Britbox, then you are unable to watch via Prime Video (same applies for Apple TV).

I get that Birtbox wants to provide options while ultimately have people favour signing up directly, so they don't have to share revenue, but as a customer the process of where I can watch and through which service aggregator is horribly confusing and frustrating.

That's disappointing (coming from a Brit myself), it can take a long time to roll out these things out everywhere.  Hopefully they are working on adding it and streamline the experience.   Can get Brit Live as an app on the streamer.

BritBox is not available as a subscription channel on Bell Fibe TV. Could you please provide further details in terms of the device and or receiver that you are using to watch Fibe TV?
