Hi - I could not get the voice remote to work with my Samsung tv.  The voice simply wasn’t working- I would unpair and re-pair it with no luck.  I then replaced the HDMI cable and it now works! Whew.

My Slim remote is no longer link to my SONY Android TV, and no longer controls Volume and the ON/Off. It can only control.

Hey @PaulH

Welcome to the Bell Community 🙂

Can you please clarify what the Slim remote is still able to control (for example, just the receiver)?

A great first step is to switch your batteries, and test again. If your battery level is low than the remote may be unresponsive or slow.

If you continue to have trouble check out our support article How to program my Bell Fibe TV remote control that we linked to hereOpens in a new tab or window

Unfortunately after following all instructions in the Portal nothing seems to work. Slim remote still does not control the TV On/Off and the Volume,  However at the end of the setup process I did find the codes for my Sony Bravia TV just don't know how load them on my Bell Slim remote.  Also as an FYI I noticed the Bell receiver blue LED blinks continually when in the (Off) position.

Good Day.

Is this a new remote or are you reprogramming an existing remote to a new TV?

I have attached the a pdf guide for programming your Bell Slim Remote to your TV.

As a starting point, unplug your receiver & plug it back in after waiting 20 seconds. Then sim[ply follow these instructions.

Please ensure that your batteries are not using weak & old. If so, change them before you begin.

If after completing all of these steps & you are still experiencing remote issues, then you may need to order a replacement remote control.

If you require a new remote control, you can purchase one from Bell at this web link:

Which TV service do you have Fibe TV or Fibe App?

Which receiver are you experiecing this problem with? VIP7802 or Bell Streamer? What is the make & model of your TV?

  1. Have you tried to power your TV off? If not please do so?
  2. Please verify your connections to your reciver & tv.
  3. Have you rebooted your receivers?
  4. Have you checked & verified your TV settings?
  5. Have you reset your remote to factory defaults & reprogammed it to your TV?

Use the sonos app to connect your remote to the sound bar, I have the 9400 worked perfectly for me.

Good Day.

Could you elaborate in providing further information on " sonos app to connect your remote to the sound bar, I have 9400 worked perfectly for me."

The Sonos app is only used to control audio. It is not a universal app that can mimick & control your TV & 9400 receiver.

Sonos makes very good equipment. It is not the easiest to set up. It takes time & patience. It is compatible with the Giga Hub, Home Hub & most routers.

I have the Giga Hub modem & I also have the  Sonos equipment following: Beam Bar, Sonos Sub, 2 x Sonos One speakers, 2 x Sonos SL speakers & a Sonos One speaker. All of which are up and working.

The Sonos app must be used to connect your Sonos equipment to your Smart TV. The Sonos app will control you TV audio. Your 9400 is connected via an HDMI cable to your Smart TV. It will not turn your TV on or off. It will control your audio setrtings for your sound bar & speakers only. The input & output that is being broadcast to & from the Sonos sound bar. Your TV remote & your 9400 will control your on / off tv settings & volume up, down & mute.

Sonos support is excellent to work with & their documentation is complete & easy to follow.

I have included the following only as a reference point from their web site:

Download the sonos app onto your phone, in the settings it has remote control setup, follow the instructions on your phone. You can program only one remote. I have the Soos Beam 2 it works perfectly. My 9400 remote controls the volume on the beam

Good Day.

That is correct. It does work amazingly The new app, Sonos, is considerably different. It was released in May 2024. The current version is 80.06.03.

The Sonos app must be used to connect your Sonos equipment to your TV. It will not turn your TV on or off. It will control the audio settings from your receiver to your to your TV & Beam or Arc sound bar & speakers.

Note: If you are installing the Sonos app, there are two slighlty different apps to choose from. Sonos S1 Controller, & the newest app called Sonos - The official Sonos app 80.06.03 that replaced the Sonos S2 Controller (You should verify hardware compatability with the Sonos app.)

Take care.

OFF button on remote does not turn the tv off. It turns the tv on but not off.

Hey there @Stad,

Thank you for reaching out to the Bell Community 🙂

Which Bell remote are you using, and what type of TV do you have? Is this a new issue, or have you ever been able to turn the TV off with your Bell remote?

To start, please ensure you have a clear line of sight between the remote and your equipment.

@BellPatricia

This feature used to work with my previous television: when I pressed the "Power" button on the remote, the television would turn off.

I now have a new Samsung TV (QN77S95CAFXZC). I configured the remote with the new TV, it controls the volume up/down and mute properly.

However, now, when I press the power button on the remote, it does not turn the TV off. It simply put's the Cloud PVR unit in "sleep" mode and the TV remains opened.

What I have tried so far: Batteries in the remote are new and all other buttons work fine. I did a reboot of the Cloud PVR, as well as a factory reset of the PVR. I unplugged the TV and plugged it back in. Unplegged everything for 5 minutes and plugged everything back in.

Note: The Bell Fibe Cloud PVR box is connected to a receiver and receiver is connected to the eARC HDMI TV port. Same as before, when the power off worked fine.

I read all other posts I could find on this issue and nothing helps.

Thanks!

Good Day.

Your remote control is not paired properly with your new Samsung TV. You will need to remove your Fibe TV box from your Samsung TV connected devices & set it up once again. Follow the onscreen instructions. Please note, Samsung has more than one remote control code. When running the setup you will be asked to change channels, etc. This a common setting with Samsung. You also must be able to volume + / - & power off /on. If it does not work on the first Samsung code, try the next one. I set my remote up after trying 3 different Samsung code. First code did not work. Second code gave me volume & channels changes. The next code gave me everything. I am using a Samsung solar smart remote.

Take care.
