Missing channels on only one satellite receiver

I have two receivers connected to my satellite dish.  The one receiver gets all the channels I am subscribed to, the other one seem to not connect on all the Even #'d transponder, but 100% signal strength on the odd # transponders.  I already had a technician come out, They charged me for a service call after telling me there would be no charge.  He told me that my coax cable was bad, & I tried running a new one, & still the same issue.  He said that I would receive a newer satellite dish, but it has never showed up.

Thank you for your question. This can happen when a receiver has been unplugged or inactive for a period of time. Follow these steps to reset your receiver and restore your Bell Satellite TV channels.

For models: 3100, 4100, 3200, 5100, 5800, 5900, 6100, 6131, 6141, 6400, 6500, 9200, 9241, 9242, 9400 9500, 7500
Press and hold POWER on your Bell Satellite TV receiver until the green light turns off. Then release.
Wait for instructions on your screen. You should see Attention screen 015.
Check to see the channels are back.
If channels are still unavailable, synchronize programming.

Yes, I found the in wall connection to be too tight.  As soon as I loosened the wall plate everything started working on both odd and even transponders.  I would have never guessed that a 98 signal strength showing, could indicate this, but good to know from now on.

I am still missing the stingray video channels that are shown in my channel lineup list 892, 893, 894

Hi there @cdlamb
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Are you able to share which 2 receivers you have and which one you are experiencing the issue on?
Are you missing all channels or specific ones (if specific, which channels?)?
Have you tried unplugging your equipment for 30 seconds and plugging it back in?
Looking forward to hearing back.

They are both bell 6500 receivers.

I just tried swapping positions of the receivers, leaving the basement receiver unhooked and now it is stuck on the screen standby for satellite signal.

I was showing 98 or 100 signal strength prior.

Shows satellite 91

Going through the odd transponders 1 - 31, and then the even transponders 2-30.

Seems real slow 0 of 5

And not completing.

I am just in the installation screen checking satellite signal, and completing switch installation check.  I don't have a switch.

The old 4100 receivers worked good.

Well I hope you get those recovers and problems resolved . let us know when you get it resolved .  Another thing I was thinking is cable that goes to satalite  that you hook back of the reciver to wAlll could be damaged . Casue I had satalite showing 0 out of 5 and i moved the cord in the wall it was working . Don’t hurt yourself it coax something I don’t know full name and almost sound like that but I put a sujestion then

It seems to be that might have been an issue.  I removed the wall plate where the cable enters the house.  Very little slack in the cable.  Seems like I have 96-100 signal on all 32 transponders.

Just seemed odd that a poor connection would only affect the odd transponders.  Does it communicate through bothe the outside ground shield cable, and the inside pin together?

On my second receiver  I'm unable to view channels 210, 211 and 274, keeps searching for satellite signal but if my first receiver is on channel 210 they work on the second receiver

What is model of the receiver that doesn't work. Is it one of the old SD receivers.

 6100 git it working now.

Poor connection.

Couldn't see how a bad connection could cause partial loss of channels.

If u haven't fixed this yet,old thread, could be white dust (kinda like corrosion) on your lnb threads. Have seen this before because either vertical or horizontal  has more volts pushing signal. The lower voltage side stops working(one side is even the other odd channels).

Just noticed you solved problem. The reason a poor connection can cause this is because there are different voltages to even and odd.
