Been missing about a dozen channels on satellite. Have resynced the channels. Didn’t work. After contacting Bell, they say satellite is working fine. I have five receivers, they will send an updated card, that may or may not work. Will only send card for ONE receiver. As they are older receivers probably 10-12 years, Bell suggesting I may have to buy new receivers. Not a happy camper. I have all my services with Bell. A little disappointed. And not receiving the channels I’m paying for ??
ALSO, the receiver they are sending a new card for? Has the original one built into it, so not even sure it will work. But if it does? I have to request a new card ONE AT A TIME
and it’s only been this summer channels are disappearing!
any suggestions would be appreciated

Thank you for your question. Yes, the 6131 receiver is well past its best before date. You might try having a technician visit to determine if your system is properly aligned, but yes, as difficult as it sounds, you may need one or more new receivers.

Good Day.
You mentioned that you resynced the channels. Are all five recievers experiencing this same problem or is this only affecting one receiver? If all five receivers are experiecing the same missing satellite channels, then it leads me to beileve it may be a dish or LNB issue issue. Do you have any error codes on any of your receivers?
Have you tried to do a restart? Press and hold the Power button on the front of the receiver for 5 seconds and wait for the receiver to turn on.
I have included the following web links that may be of assistance to you.
I can't access some of the channels that I've subscribed to : Why am I missing channels? (bell.ca)

You may require a technician visit to determine the cause.

So we have recently lost a few channels and I think I know what the problem is but can find the satellite. For the last year I have been running of the 82 Bell satellite as I lost signal to the 91 Bell satellite and couldn’t find it again but managed to get the 82 one. We didn’t have a problem until about 5-6 weeks ago we started losing some channels and I believe it is because Bell might have moved the channels to the 91 satellite.
I know if you can get the 91 satellite the 82 will automatically also sink but not the other way round.
it was not a problem until now, Bell did send us new smart cards but did not fix the problem, I have 2 other receivers at a different location running off the 91 Bell receiver and they are still getting all the channels.
I am having a hard time locating the 91 Bell satellite and I am in Manitoba, I set it to what my other satellite is at and nothing and also what Bell recommends but still can’t find it . Looking for advice please.

What receiver are you using that you cannot get signal on, is it a 9241. I am sure you checked for trees etc., tried realigning the dish etc. Sometimes it is a simple tweak to get both satellites.

The check switch test has found that you have fewer satellites than prevously detected. Selecting “save” will result in a loss of channels. Press “cancel” to keep original settings

Seems to me then maybe it may be the LNB or cable

Good Day.
You mentioned that you have a 6131 receiver. This can often be caused by a cabling issue. Check your cables & replace if necessary. Either the wrong type of cable (i.e. not RG6) or a bad (or improperly installed) connector can cause this problem. Verify your connections & connectors on your LNB.
Try removing all of the cables on your receiver. Remove ALL inputs. Run Check Switch. It will fail. Then reconnect all of your cables & try running the Check Switch once again.
If your problem continues, you may need a tech visit to check out your LNB & dish.

we have no trees and it is the 6131 receiver and like I said all three receivers at my main home are having the same issues but not the 2 receivers at my other location and the only difference is the main house is pontes at the 82 satellite and the the other location is pointing at the 91 satellite.
