Ordering On Demand & PPV

I tried ordering a VOD on bell.ca but could only find the title I wanted as a PPV. However when I looked at the movie listings on my receiver, the same title was listed as VOD. Is there some trick to ordering VOD on bell.ca?

Hey @allanj42. Thanks for your post, and welcome to the Community.

Are you trying to rent a Movie or a Live Event?

You can order On Demand directly through your TV receiver. Take a look at How to enjoy On Demand for steps on ordering with Fibe TV or Satellite.

A Pay-per-view is a live event that airs at a specific time, and can be ordered up to 24 hours in advance. Check out How to order Pay-per-view online.

Enjoy! 🙂

No trick. The ordering function simply isn't available on the web. app and dvr only.

I thought that ordering directly on my PVR required a land-line telephone connection. We are about to eliminate our land-line. Would I still be able to order from the PVR?

I'm w/ thé iptv. Never ever had a home phone. It might go through the satellite if u don’t have Fibe tv.

Thanks for the info link @BellPatricia  I was speaking to a rep about another problem and mentioned this question. She suggested I could phone in my orders. I'll probably buy the wifi connector for $25.

I have a Bell satellite 9500 receiver. Tried to get a VU or On Demand movie but the order would not go through because I don't have a broadband receiver. Bell does not offer high-speed broadband in my rural area. My old SD receiver used a telephone line to order movies, but the 9500 has no such jack. Is there any way to get a pay movie on Bell satellite TV if there's no high-speed internet or Fibe connection for the receiver?

Hi @Satguy. Welcome to the Bell Community, and thanks for your post.

To watch PPV/On Demand content, you will need to connect your 9500 Whole Home PVR to the Internet.

It can be done via Wi-Fi or by connecting an Ethernet cable from the receiver to the modem. Check out How to connect your 9500 Whole Home PVR to the Internet using its built-in Wi-FiOpens in a new tab or window

I could not do this because it did not seem possible to enter a WiFi password that contains numbers as well as letters. But I've discovered a low-tech method that works:

1. Select the desired movie and press info on the remote

2. Copy the Event ID. It's a number in parentheses.

3. Call 1-888-759-3474 and go through the 4-step menu: (Language, phone # verification, 3 for pay per view, 1 for pay per view)

4. Enter the Event ID when requested

How can you tell inside the bell app if a ppv order on satellite went through?

Hi there @Ken
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Within the MyBell app under the television section there will be a "Purchased content" option that it should show under.
