Hi there @Rodenti
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Are you using a premium HDMI cord?
Which receiver model do you have?
Are you connected via ethernet or WiFi and is it possible to test on both connections to see if the issue persists?
Looking forward to hearing back.

I have the small Android box (VIP7802). The HDMI cable is the one the technician used with the Bell logo at both ends, so I assume it's a premium cable.

I'm connected via wifi, and it only happens every couple of weeks so it's tough to reproduce.

When it happen this week I tried a few things when the red screen appeared. the box still shows a green light and seems to respond to the remote to power off and on with no effect on the red screen, I unplugged and replugged the HDMI cable, also turned off the tv and back on and still red screen... only pulling the power to restart the box seems to fix it.

I can't get an ethernet cable to that location, so it would be difficult to test with a wired connection.

I noticed that on a different TV my second Bell box flashes the red screen prior to displaying the correct screen, so it almost seems like box is sometimes failing on setting up the HDMI connection.

Is there a reset button or a key combination on the remote to let me reset the box without unplugging it?

It happened again today. I decided to try restarting FibeTV (not reboot system} using blind remote control clicks and it worked to get it working again.

If someone else gets a red screen try the following:

Power Off, power on, home, down x 4, select, down x 6, select, down x 1, select, then wait until the Fibe TV service restarts.

I recommend you wait a second between each click to let the box process the command. I start with power off/on to visually make sure the box is responding.

I recently bought a Samsung CU8000 tv. I connected my bell fibe vip7802 box to the tv with a HDMI cable. I don't know why, but sometimes when I open the tv the display from my HDMI connection only shows a pink screen. The only way that I can fix it is to unplug my bell box and reboot it. I tried a different cable but the problem still persists.

Move speakers or magnetic items away from that model of tv.

My Bell receiver shows a big red x when i restarted it

Hi there @steph1
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Are you able to share some further details so that the Community can better assist?
What service do you subscribe to (Satellite or Fibe TV)?
What receiver model do you have that you're experiencing this on?
Is your receiver connected to the internet and if so, is it through Wi-Fi or ethernet connection?
Is there any error code also showing or is it just the Red X on the screen?
Looking forward to hearing back.

Just to let you know I had a tech in the other day and he was baffled as well, he did however switch a setting on the tv from whatever it was set at to 4k only and I have not had to reboot the tv since. I do get a small hesitation now before screen display but it has come on every time.  ?

same problem. just switched to bell, brand new tv, never happened with Rogers, switched reciever with a new one from bell, still happening

Good day @turks

I keep getting a red screen whenever I turn on the TV.  This is the 8th receiver and 4th modem replaced since November, countless technicians and phone calls.

As well, the image freezes when I change the channel and often during the program--it actually freezes while I am watching...it's extremely frustrating.  Like the many posts I have been reading, I am paying for a service I am not receiving. It's been a few months of the TV constantly not working properly

What happens if my high end expensive LED Sony TV is damaged?

What is being done to address this issue, given the amount of the same complaints?

Absolutely incredible

Why tv screen came on with a red X I already rebooted but it came back same red X

Can you please add some clarification? What Bell service are you using? How is your TV connected to Bell's service? Further information is needed before we can comment. Thank you.
