Good Day.
Thank you for reporting this issue. Please try once again at a later time. I was able to simulate the same issue last evening and once again this morning. I tried again & was able to connect.
I will forward this for further investigation.
It appears that Bell has recently made a slight modification to the recorded instructions provided when accessing this feature to change the number of rings. I have updated the instructions below to reflect this minor change.
Call Answer - To change the number of rings please follow the steps below.
- Dial *94 and listen to the recorded announcement.
- Enter the number of rings you want there to be before switching to Call Answer (0 to 9).
- Wait for a 3-5 pause.
- Listen for the voice recorded confirmation & then a fast busy signal.
- Hang up.

When someone tries to call, it only rings 3x and then it asks for a 10-digit code to set up a message.
My problem is: I don’t want any messages to be left. I just want people to call me and I pick up my phone.
Also, I need it to ring 7x to give me time to get to the phone to answer it. How do I do that?
Thank you.

Good Day.
Would you by chance be using a cordless phone with an answering machine? E.g. Panasonic, VTech, etc. If so, please refer to your user manual for the Voice mail service provider settings and the number of rings requirements. You can also choose to turn the answering system off & have Bell Call answer take your messages.
I have reconfirmed this morning that the instructions below do work. Please exactly follow these steps in their entirety.
To change Call Answer - the number of rings before answering, please follow the steps below.
- Dial *94 and listen to the recorded announcement.
- Enter the number of rings you want there to be before switching to Call Answer (0 to 9).
- Wait for a 3-5 pause.
- Listen for the voice recorded confirmation & then a fast busy signal.
- Hang up.

I thought I had turned off the answering machine from my Panasonic phone, but apparently I had not. Once that was done I was able to adjust the number of rings for my phone. The process was different than what you have listed. My method was *94, 3 short beeps(no recording), enter number of rings wanted and there is 2 confirmation beeps(no recording), then hang up
