We have had sympatico.ca e-mail addresses for decades and Bell Mobility cell phones for almost as long.
BUT I was told by Bell that our sympatico e-mail addresses would be lost if we drop our Bell land-line, which doesn't make any sense at all as we now ONLY ever access our sympatico e-mail from our cell phones.
Is there not some way to associate our sympatico e-mail addresses with our Bell Mobility services rather than our unneeded land-line?

Hey there @CJ , thanks for your post.
If you wish to keep your Sympatico and/or Bell.net email addresses, you will need to maintain a Bell Internet account or a Bell Mobility data device, such as a Turbo Hub, Turbo Stick or MiFi.
You may also be able to transfer your Bell email address to another active Bell Internet account (such as a family members account). For more details check out Bell email address - from old account to new

Yes! Please read & review he following:
If you discontinue your Internet, Home phone & TV, you will still have your email account just as long as you maintain your Mobility service.
If you choose to delete your mobility service as well.... then you email will cease to exist! You will loose this email address! It will be discontinued!
Bell no longer offers any free email accounts. If you require a free email account then you will need to obtain one from another email account supplier such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, AOL, Mail, etc.
Just remember one important thing: "If you cancel your Bell Internet & your Mobility service, your email account is automatically deleted when you cancel these services.
You will no longer have access to it or any of the information that you may not have deleted. Everything is deleted when the service is terminated. Your email account can not be recreated nor any of the emails or folders recovered.

Good Day.
I wish I could help you, but I can not. Bell has not provided email addresses in almost two years.
If you cancelled your Internet account & did not have an active mobility data account or related service attached at the time, then your Bell webmail email account would have been closed & can not be reopened & activated. Once it is closed, there is no method to retrieve any of the information you may have stored on Bell's webmail server.
If you have an existing Bell email address, you are able to continue to use it as long as it is maintained on an active Bell Internet account or a Bell Mobility data device, such as a Turbo Hub, Turbo Stick or MiFi on a continuous basis.
Thank you for posting your question
Take care.

Good Day.
@Barton Sorry for the mixed messages that you have been receiving.
This is Bell's current email position:
If you have an existing Bell email address, you are able to continue to use it as long as it is maintained on an active account. You will need to maintain a Bell Internet account or a Bell Mobility account device with data, e.g. Turbo Hub, Turbo Stick or MiFi on a continuous basis.
If cancelling your Bell Internet service: your Bell email address can no longer be used / accessed, and all emails will be lost. In order to transfer an existing Bell email address to a different account, you would need to get in touch with Bell Customer Service. "You need to do this prior to disconnecting your Internet service." This cannot be completed after the service is disconnected.
If you delete it or wish to change it to another email address or move it to another account, this cannot be done. You can no longer add a new Bell email address.
Thank you for posting your question
Take care.

Good Day.
Yes, you can delete your Bell email & keep your Bell Internet service.
If you choose to delete your Bell email address, this cannot be undone. You can no longer add a new Bell email address. It is not possible to recover a Bell email account after it has been closed; all data associated with it is permanently deleted. The email address cannot be reactivated, so you will need to get a new email address from a provider like Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.
To delete your Bell email address, you will need to login to your MyBell account.
- Login to your MyBell account with any web browser.
- Select > My Profile.
- Scroll down to > Service profiles.
- Select > Internet.
- Select > Manage your Bell email addresses & select edit.
- You email address will be in view on your screen.
- Select > your email address.
- Select > the delete Trash can. Save your changes.
After deleting your email address, you should update your Contact & multi-factor authentication information in your MyBell Profile. Please go back to the upper level of your My Profile.
- Select > Profile Information.
- Scroll down to Contact & multi-factor authentication information.
- Select > Contact email address.
- Select > Edit. Follow the onscreen prompts. Enter the changes to your email info. Save your changes.
Take care.

We went Fibe to home, and our landline wire now connects to nothing*. The home-phone service is VOIP, though without any of the internet-based improvements others market with VOIP. But we did get to keep our @sympatico addresses. That is we kept them until Bell's 'improved' webmail apparently erased two out of the three accounts. Thanks be, gmail can still detect messages addressed that way. As for the landline, phone company's complete abandonment of CallerID and surrender to telemarketers, has made it useful only for rare voicemails, mostly from doctors' offices telling us they're faxing a referral.
----------
* The installer left the wire crossing over the yard saying "… if you ever go with TekSavvy, they'll want it". we both laughed. But the webmail nonsense and sympatico-silliness is undercutting the humour

If you switch internet providers do you have to give up your Bell email account? Or can you still use it?

Customer Service has indicated I can't keep my sympatico email service however, on forums.bell.ca, Moderator BellAntgio indicated if one of 3 services is kept then the email service will be maintained. Can someone please clear up the discrepency as spending $50+ to maintain email addresses seems excessive.

I've been a Bell customer for 40 years. I moved to the US 10 years ago but still have Bell internet in my Canadian house. I'm now selling my Canadian house and will be disconnecting Bell internet in that house. I'm wonder if I can forward sympatico mail to my gmail account. Does it cost anything?
FYI, I still have a Canadian cottage that has a Bell landline, but currently there isn't any internet available in our area. Local government sponsored program is currently running cable lines free from the Highway to cottages along the shoreline in the cottage country area and will be hooked up in the new future. Will this help me at all with the forwarding sympatico mail to my gmail account? Or does this not make any difference with what I want to do.
I have so many accounts in both US and CAN (banks, utilities, businesses etc) that are linked to my sympatico account I'm getting worried what might happen when we disconnect our one Bell internet connection in our CAN house that we're selling. Any advise you is welcome. Thanks for your help. P.S. I'm not tech savvy.

We are moving to a remote location in northern ontario in a few months. We have found that bell internet is not currently available in that area. If we have to find an alternate internet provider but still have other bell services (cell phone and satelitte TV) can we still have our sympatico email addresses? or do we lose those when we cancel our internet?

Bell offers satellite & mobility service in the far north. They are one of the bigger suppliers of this type of service in remote locales across Canada. If you can obtain Bell Satellite TV, you should be able to connect to the internet as well. By doing so, you should be able to keep your Bell email address providing you maintain Bell internet / Bell mobility data device.
Once a Bell email address is deleted, it can not be renewed. Bell no longer offers free internet email addresses.
If you wish to keep your Sympatico and/or Bell.net email addresses, you will need to maintain a Bell Internet account or a Bell Mobility data device.
I would suggest you contact Bell Customer Service at 310-BELL before making any final account decisions if you wish to keep your Sympatico email addresses.
Bell also offers a free Move Valet Service. You can reach them at: 1 866 866-BELL.
They have a dedicated team that will assist you with your move & advise you on the available services at your new location. They will also follow up assisting you in a smoother transition from one location to another.
Here is a web link to this free service that will answer most of your moving questions: Move Valet | Bell Canada

Hello. I have a question/concern that I hope someone can help me with.
We really want to cancel our Bell internet account, but we'll lose our
Bell email addresses if we do. However, after reading some past comments
it seems that it is now possible to transfer email addresses to a Bell mobile
account. That's great if true.
Are all mobility data plans created equal for this purpose? I see there's a tablet
'Flex' plan that starts at $10/month and also a 1GB plan that is also $10.
There may be a catch to plans like that, but the cost is much better than
maintaining an internet account we don't need.
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. It'd be good to have an idea
what we need to discuss with Bell before calling.
Thanks.

Hello again. I haven't received a reply to my post, but finally getting around
to calling Bell about this. I did an internet search on 'Bell Mobility Data
Device' (the exact words from another post) which brought me to the Mobile
Internet Devices page on Bell's website. I now have a better idea of what we need.
I'll post an update on whether or not I'm successful in being able transfer our
Bell email address to a new mobile plan. I'm sure there are others who would like to know.
Thanks. 🙂

I have had my sympatico.ca e-mail account for over 20 years. I’m moving to BC and have been told I will no longer be able to use that e-mail. I have been a customer of Cogeco in the past and was still able to use it. Also when travelling. Why can’t I keep it just because I’m moving out west?
Thank you
