Keyword Search Web EMail on Bell.net

I couldn't find any other posts on this subject so wondering if it is some settings im missing.

Since the new format change from Nov, 21 there is no keywords search for emails.

I called technical service and was told they are working on it   -   after hours installing, logging in differently, and testing everything.  No solution after many call backs to Bell.

Does everyone else have this problem, or is it just me?

I even type in the exact email address and it still does not work.

Typing in the entire email address does work.. I stand corrected. But it is too bad it does not work for Names like Search "RJH" instead of typing in "RJH@***.com"

When I try to search for a specific topic or word in my inbox it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

Hey there @evermore

Thanks for your post 🙂

Can you search the inbox for PC Financial instead of just PC to see if that works?

Keep us posted,

@BellPatricia

Still doesn't workevermore_0-1752006559470.jpeg

Thank you for testing @evermore

Do you see that error when you search for other key words/email addresses as well, or just PC Financial?

@BellPatricia

Other sites as well PC was just an example. As I said, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't . It is not consistent.

I have been having the same issue for several months now.  I tried moving a large number of emails to the archive folder to see if that helped.  It didn't.  I note that the search function works fine in all the other folders, including the archive folder which is much larger.

Hey there @Joel L

Welcome to the Bell community and thank you very much for your post 🙂

Which web browser are you using? Do you see an error message on all of your searches or just when you search for something specific?

Keep us posted,

@BellPatricia

I have tried using Chrome, Safari and Edge and on two different computers, an ipad and an android pad.  Same result.  The most frustrating part is that the search works fine in my archive directory which is much larger than the inbox.  Sometimes I do get results, or partial results, but usually I get this.

I don't know if my reply from minutes ago went through, but it disappeared before I finished editing the content.

I switched to Outlook after webmail frustrations.  Cringe when I have to go back looking fo an older email.

Experience the same issues recently that have been posted, and now get delivery and send errors even with infrequent use.  Have been waiting for Bell Tech Service looking into it for 4 months now..

I found if I needed to search for an old email the sort by name function still works.  However that is only useful if If you know the email you are searching for.  Anyhow might help.  My concern with outlook is that it stores the data locally and I have a lot in the archive folder.  Might try moving to gmail though.  Also looking at some third party email backup options.  Only a matter of time I think before Bell shuts down the email entirely.  I understand they no longer provide email addresses and I assume the email service will be next to go.

Hi there @Joel L & @DakotaJim2

Can you clarify? Are using Classic Outlook, a standalone client, or New Outlook in Office 365. Classic Outlook stores emails on your computer. New Outlook stores your messages on servers. I have a 50 Gb Classic Outlook .pst file on my computer. Searches take a few seconds. New Outlook can take a lot longer, as you are searching a server on line.
