Hi - I attached an external hard drive to my HH3000 and it's been working for over a year as a NAS. Suddenly, as of today, I am unable to use my drive using a mapped drive on my computer. No other computer can connect to it anymore. I am using Windows 11, but my laptop that is windows 10 has also lost connections.
The error message is that "Local Device Name is already in use." However, when I try to remap or visit \\mynetwork, my hard drive doesn't show up. It only shows an empty folder with nothing inside. Nothing works when I visit \\192.168.2.1 in my file explorer, but using the browser shows the router page. Visiting \\192.168.2.1:9000 in the browser leads to a page that says "Service unavailable".
The Hard Drive is fine and in good shape. I ran a SMART test and it has no major issues, and works if I connect it via USB to my computer directly.
I also tried enabling SMB1 and it did not change anything either (and it was working fine prior to enabling it anyways). It makes me think that a recent update or something made this function unusable.
Interestingly, if I go to This PC\Home Hub 3000, I can access the files. However, I have to download a copy of the file into a local temp folder in order to use it on my computer. Before, with a mapped drive, I could just access it by clicking on it. The file storage is also messed up, all the folders are in a different language and is preset (with Images, Musique, and Videos, but not how I organized it which has "Movies, TV Shows, and Music"). So I can still theoretically connect to the drive, but just not through a mapped drive. It's pretty annoying to try and find a file I want too since it seems like it just scanned the entire drive and sorted (incorrectly) all the files in the preset folders arbitrarily.
Any ideas on what to do?

Yes, just use one of the ethernet ports to attach you NAS.

Seen a few other people having issues with their USB NAS. It's likely a firmware update that caused it, but you can try rebooting the modem to see if it solves the issue.

Didn't work, but good to hear that its something that has been coming up recently so it's not just me. Any idea where to lurk to see the latest updates about firmware updates for HH3000?

I am not aware of any location where they keep firmware notes that can be publicly accessed.
