Slow speeds with Gigahub on 3gb

I’ve currently upgraded from HH4000 1Gb to Gigahub 3gb and my wifi speeds are terrible.

I’ve already turned off wifi optimization and Wifi 6, along with different SSID names. Currently on firmware 1.14.1

how can I get the new 1.15x firmware @BellPatricia

If you have a 3 gigabit fibre plan, you should be getting much better speed than 228 Mbps.

Perform a speed test from within the modem  to ensure you are getting the correct profile speed.

I currently have 3gs DL package yet on the bell.app their speed test says 76 or so mbs dl...what is the point of upping my package to not even get remotely close to what I'm paying for??

Thanks for your question. Can you be more specific? What device are you using to run your speed test? It is wired or wireless? What is the report from the modem dashboard speed test? Glad to assist in finding answers to your questions, but more information is needed.

I'm using the speed test on the bell application..consistently laggy/slow later in the evening. it's wifi with a good signal, no reason to be lagging while watching g a stream...

Are you seeing lagging? Other effects? As has been asked, a speed test report from within the modem will help.

I have the fastest package bell speed test doesn't even hit near 1g dl/ul..why is bell internet so bad..what's the point of the most expensive package yet never get the full said amount.. really considering leaving bell and going back to videotron...I can't be the only one with this throttling issue if it's that.

Thanks for your post. We would need more information to answer your question. What package do you have? How are you connecting your devices? Wired or wireless? Can you run and post a speed test from the modem dashboard? If you can provide that information, we might be able to help you. Bell does not throttle your internet service. You may have technical issues to clarify, however. Let’s keep the conversation going.

My internet speed is throttled to this exact speed since a few days as compared to before where it was at 3.3gbps.

I tried every solution known to man that doesn't involve an actual employee being able to tweak stuff i don't have acess to. From what i've seen online this is a very rare bug where essentially (i will quote it)

"You're affected by a pretty rare bug where the hardware managing your speed policy gets confused and assigns the wrong speed to your connection. The hardware is due to be changed for a new generation, maybe First quarter 2023. I've put in a band aid solution for now, let me know if the issue comes back."

Any assistance would be appreciated, it's also become clear to me that no amount of modem changes will resolve the issue according to other people that faced this exact problem

Someone needs to do a manual remote into my internet service and implement a fix. I was told that pinging you would most probably get this noticed quicker, my apologies if it's an inconvenience in any shape or form @BellPatricia

Hi there @Gil950

Welcome to the Bell community 🙂

We would like to gather some more information in order to better assist.

  • Can you clarify what troubleshooting steps you have tried so far?
  • Are you using any third party equipment such as a router or a switch?
  • Did you recently upgrade the internet package, or make any changes to your set-up/configuration?
  • Is this affecting both your Ethernet and Wi-Fi connection?
  • Please share a screen shot of your Speed testOpens in a new tab or window from the modem GUI so we can take a look.

We are looking forward to your reply,

@BellPatricia

After my router restarted it updated to firmware 2.13 on my gigahub. Now my download speeds have dropped to 600 mps.I was getting 1.6 mps easily.

We have a 3GBPS plan. My desktop is directly connected to the internet modem using (cat 6 cable) and only getting 945mbps speed whenever I do speed test. As per our Wi-fi we're only getting 400-500 mbps. Our friend who recommend this connection is at 1.5GBPS plan and getting 1.2GBPS speed, how come our connection speed is slower than that plan?

If your computer is only able to download at 945 Mbps, then the limiting factor is the network card in your computer. It is most likely a 1Gb network card or port. 945 Mbps is the best you will get. The same is true of your wireless connection. I can’t offer much more without more detailed computer specifications, though.
