I did download and followed their instructions and was in contact with them … it just not working out …

I just upgrade from 150 to the 1.5 package . It helped with connection in a new sunroom but not as great as I thought it would . So my understanding was the HH4000 had better reach .. So I thought why not upgrade . So first I’m told if I really wanted to do so it would cost me $200 which doesn’t bother me much if it works …But what concerns me is now I would own it and would only have (I think ) they said 2 years warranty … so now I”m thinking I have the HH3000 if something goes work with it they replace it … so why would one want to own when it’s not costing me ? I was hoping to spend the money with the idea that now I’m basically on the same deal … something goes work they replace it … Is it me or does this not sound right ?

Thank you for your question. I am confused. Bell does not sell their modems. Did you, by chance, hear an installation cost instead?

The modem they provide is the one you should use. If you want to get better WiFi, use an external AP that plugs into one of the gigabit ports of the home hub you currently have.

Much better solution than upgrading and it's future proof as it separates your WiFi from the provider you use.

That's just my opinion.

You know I was just on my Wi-Fi App … and I’m looking around and found different buying options .. for the GIGI hub it said 199.99 one time rental fee . Now wouldn’t you think it would be the same as the HH3000 …if something goes wrong in the future they just fix it or replace it ?

I hear what your saying … I tried Wi-Fi extenders and Eero pods ..never increased range at all .. so I was able to get a good deal on 1.5 package ..( I had 150 ) they included a pod at nearly the same as I was paying … things seem to work much better but my thought process was why not go to the Gigi hub and get the best possible range. But when talking to a so called specialist he made it sound like I had to pay for the HH4000 and that it only had a couple of years warranty . Just didn’t make sense to me . Then I fooling around with the Wi-Fi app .. got into the pricing of different packages and found where it showed the GIGI as a one time rental fee .. to me that means if something goes wrong in the future their responsible not me !

Hi there @Rambling55
Please note that we do not sell our modems and the equipment will always remain Bell property. The $199 fee for the modem is a one time rental charge, instead of paying a monthly rental fee of $7.00. The modem will be under warranty if a replacement is required.
Whereas you have the new modem, you have WiFi pods and have also tried using third party equipment to get signal in your Sunroom, if you're still having connection issues it sounds like you have a lot of interference that is impacting the signal. It's best to set up your pods so that they can link together with clear line of sight to each other or to use an ethernet connection if possible.

Gigahub in basement. Office has slow speed on 3rd floor. Shud I put a pod in the office or put it on the 2nd floor to help????

Hey there @Tkittner

Welcome to the Bell Community 🙂

Setting up Bell Wi-Fi pods throughout your home will help improve the Wi-Fi range. If you choose to get multiple pods we recommend that you space them evenly. Pods work as a team, so they need to be close enough to communicate with one another. Try to space them evenly, within 10 to 14 meters from each other and from your modem.

You can also learn more about installing your pods and find tips for best performance on our support page: What are Wi-Fi pods and how do I use them?Opens in a new tab or window

@BellPatricia

Just upgraded gigahub speed to 3.0. Up in office speed still very slow compared to the floor below. How do I get Tech to see about relocating modem or installs pods?????

Hi there @Tkittner
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
You would need to speak with our technical support team about having your modem relocated (if possible) if the area it's in is not ideal. Alternatively, you can rent our Wi-Fi pod(s) to install in your home. No technician is required for the pods, as they would be mailed out to you and you would just need to plug them into a power outlet, set them up via the Wi-Fi app and they will self optimize. Should the connection still not be what you're looking for, you can move the pods around to different areas of your home, as the connection may improve.
You can add Wi-Fi pods by logging into your MyBell account, going to your internet service and selecting "Add Wi-Fi pods". If you order more than one and realize afterwards you don't need multiple, the unused one's can be returned.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Community.

Thanks for your question. Splitting your networks might give a small change, but you really want a wifi extender to get the signal outside.
