When I open Outlook on my desktop all the emails in my Inbox disappear.

Twice within the last few days when I open Outlook on my desktop computer, all the emails in my Inbox disappear. Note, they disappear, not get deleted. I click on another folder, like Sent, then click back to Inbox and Outlook will re-synch with the server and re-download all the emails. Of course with thousands of emails, this takes some time.

Has anybody else had this happen?

Is Enable Forwarding checked? NO

Are there any active mail filters

setup?  NO

 

You can check in the Junk and Deleted folder to see if the missing emails are there

No, and those folders are now empty too. 

I do not have it set to auto delete after log out

Checked all everything seems fine and no I haven’t retrieved any lost emails

Just checked my emails (on web-based Bell.net) and several years worth of emails have simply vanished from my Inbox.  What do I do?  I have a sympatico account.  No, they are not in the delete box. And no, I have not changed my filters recently.

Which browser and device are you using to access your Bell email account?

Have you setup email forwarding to another email account? 

You can check if emails are bring forwarded using the steps below:

  • Using your Bell webmail, click on Settings (gear icon) on the top right.
  • Select Mail then select Mail Forwarding.
  • Is Enable Forwarding checked?

I have the same issue with years worth of important archived emails that disappeared a month ago. Moderator on this forum tried to help with no luck.  An agent that I spoke to on the phone was going to escalate the issue but I have heard absolutely nothing.

Dito i have given up my own save email folder disappeared I person looking after my case said she was passing to higher up TWO WEEKS AGO

STILL WAITING 

My inbox had several thousand emails dating back decades, which have now all disappeared except for the last week's worth of messages (since Feb 9, 2024). Otherwise, all old emails remain in my sent and custom folders. No filters applied. Can't find the emails on any devices or Webmail. Appreciate any suggestions...

Are you able to share what device (make and model) and how you are accessing your Bell mail? Are you using any third party app, browser?
Is this issue reproducible on other methods of checking your emails (different browser / device)?
Looking forward to hearing back.
 

Within the last 2 to 3 weeks my emails have been disappearing, even saved emails (starred), I have gone from 22000 emails to 160 and I have NOT deleted them, there are lawyers emails and bills.  The option to keep emails longer has now disappeared and only are there back a couple of weeks.

Please help... I have tried everything and trying to get support from Bell and no one is responding

Can you share if you are using Bell Webmail, or accessing your Bell email on an email client such as Outlook? Also, what type of device/browser are you using?

No never got them back

no I’m not using web mail  water under  the bridge now  safari is what  I use 

my BIGER problem is no notification on receiving mail  been to the store to see if I was drooping something wrong they said all  looks good they put it down to the last update such a pain 

 

 

If you are using a web browser to access your e-mail, I would assume it to be web based. Safari is a web browser.

Normally you would use mail on a Mac, or some other client when using Safari on a PC.

I use a email client on my phone

I log in to Webmail on my Chromebook and laptop

All of these my emails have disappeared prior to April 16, 2024 ....

My Outlook on my Mac has all my emails if I open and am very worried they will disappear also

Can you check to see if emails are being forwarded in Bell Webmail?

  • Click on Settings (gear icon) on the top right > Select Mail then select Mail Forwarding. Make sure Forward and keep a copy is selected.
