Credit Union not listed for preauthorized payments from bank account

My credit union branch is not in the list when I am supposed to select my bank. I was told via chat there is no way to add it. How is that possible? SOMEONE must be able to add to this list! Any info on that?  Thanks

I'm also having trouble adding my account for an automatic debit.  The institution is FirstOntario Credit Union, which definitely allows automatic debits.  There's no place on Bell's form for the institution number, but it's 828.  The name FirstOntario appears, although as two words.  I've tried making the change on my iphone via the Mybell app, on a Mac via Safari, and on a PC via Chrome, but always it comes to a screen that says "something is wrong."

Good morning, @AlanH. Welcome to the Bell Community, and thanks for bringing this to our attention.

We've forwarded the missing institution to be verified and corrected.

One thing to keep in mind, any updates of the sort may take some time to be corrected. With this being said, check for app updates and the list periodically to see when it will be updated.

Best wishes.

I have been trying to find my bank to set up for auto-payment of my bill yet it doesn't seem to be there even though it is a Canadian Credit Union.  Has anyone else tried to set up using Kawartha Credit Union.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

Have you contacted your credit union to confirm if they support this type of payment & if so, what their name would be listed as? You should also verify with them the correct spelling as well.

A Bell Forum moderator will forward your request to add your Credit Union to the financial institution list. One thing to keep in mind, any updates to this list may take some time to be corrected. Please periodically check the list or app to see when it will be updated.

Let us know if you require any further assistance.

Take care

Yes I checked even though I knew they allowed it because all my other bills are auto-pay. It’s frustrating because if I sign up within the next 30 days I’ll receive a $20 mth discount on my mobility plan.
My bank is Kawartha Credit Union

Thank you for your quick reply.

Unfortunately, this is not within our circle of influence to change the conditions as outlined on the promotion.

This is a peer-to-peer website. As such, we do not have access to your account and billing details. We cannot change the qualifying conditions as outlined in this promotion. I can only suggest that you periodically check the list or app to see when it will be updated.

I can only wish that this will be within 30-day promotion window that you have.

Take care.

Yes, I have pre-authorized payments from hydro, insurance, and gas companies from my account.  I've used another account for Bell which is less convenient but which I suppose will get me my discounts for preauthorized payments. I'll check in with Bell every few months to see if they've fixed things (not hopeful).

Good Day.

A Bell Forum moderator would of forwarded your earlier request to add your Credit Union to the financial institution list. One thing to keep in mind, any updates to this list may take some time to be corrected. Please periodically check the list or app to see when it will be updated.

You’ll receive the Autopay credit while you’re on an eligible rate plan and registered for pre-authorized debit payments. You can change bank accounts at any time without losing the credit. However, if you change your payment method to pre-authorized credit card or monthly invoice, the credit will be removed.

My credit union is not on the list. What to do? Yes, my credit union does auto payments and I myself have auto payments from my account.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

If your credit union supports this type of payment, please verify what their name would be listed as? You should also verify with them the correct spelling as well.

Hey there @Frustrated 2025 and @Bill in Guelph ,

Welcome to the Bell Community, and thanks for bringing this to our attention.

We've forwarded the missing institution to be verified and corrected.

One thing to keep in mind, any updates of the sort may take some time to be corrected. With this being said, check for app updates and the list periodically to see when it will be updated.

@AlanH I have verified the current list and I can confirm that First Ontario Credit Union Limited was added and is currently available to be selected in the Bank Name List.

Best wishes.

Yes, thanks, First Ontario is on the list, but when I choose it and enter my information I get a "something went wrong" error.  I tried several times over several days and then used a TD bank account which worked perfectly.  I'll try the First Ontario one again from time to time but I'm sure my little issue won't be a priority for the Bell establishment.

Thanks for the feedback @AlanH

We've forwarded your concern to be verified.

In the meantime we hope that you all have a great day.

Hi, my credit union is also not listed.

It is the Innovation Federal Credit Union institution number 889

Can this be added to the drop down selection menu as well?
