Hello I was called by this number +1 (647) XXX-XXXX is this a real bell support number?
they offered me a 40% discount on my bill.

It's a total scam! I am very careful with this stuff but they got me! They send you emails & texts with confirmation codes & have a good chunk of your Bell info so you really think it's Bell. The scam is to give you a fake discount & offer you a loyalty gift which in my case was a watch. It the shows up as an order on your account & if Bell security pros did not catch it the Indian sounding scam scum will confirm your tracking & receiving the watch then tell a story why you must send it back as it's been recalled or not right in some way. But you are sending it back to them & your left holding the bag for the cost of the "gift". Fortunately for me Bell security cancelled my profile so the scam scum could no longer access my account! It was pretty sufisticated & I should have acted on my first instincts, Indian accents with regular Canadian names!
Thank Bell for catching this before I was out $345.

@Danv As you know by now, this was not Bell contacting you. It was a fraudster trying to scam you. This is a rather difficult & unfortunate situation that no one relishes being involved in.
Fraudsters & scammers today do this by masking their name & number & impersonating a supplier. They are hoping to fool you in to believing they are authentic. They want you to share some form of personal information that will allow them to steal from you. This can be accomplished by way of a phone call, email or text message, web link, etc.
Reputable companies such as Bell, banks, utilities & highly regarded services & institutions do not send you messages or make calls such as this! They do not call you asking to provide personal information. Hang up!
Never share any personal information with anyone you do not know or trust! Do not open web links or messages in emails or text messages!

Hi All,
I just received another scam call this afternoon. Currently there is a phone scam going around with people posing as Bell employees offering a Canada/USA/Mexico Unlimited package calls and texts for $25.
Some people are the worst.

Reputable companies such as Bell, banks, utilities & highly regarded services & institutions do not send you messages or make calls such as this! They do not call you asking to provide personal information. Hang up!

I had a call yesterday from people claiming to be from Bell giving out a promotion. They asked me for my driver's license, passport/ social insurance number or credit card halfway through the process, which is when I hung up on them.
They've tried calling me back 3 or 4 times since then. Is this a scam? Does Bell ask for personal information over the phone? Because I'm 100% not comfortable giving that out.

I have been trying (in vain) to renegotiate my monthly rate. I received a call today that knew of those previous discussions however it is quite clearly a scam. Only after I realized they were trying to reset the credentials to my account did I intervene and change my password to the account (which I had to recover because they had changed it on the call). This is the first time in YEARS that I have tried to renegotiate my rate. The email I received on the call as well was from noreply@bellpromotiondepartment.com

I recently received a couple of calls from someone claiming to be with Bell with a 30 % offer. The caller ID was just the phone number. How do I know if this is a legitimate call, or a scam call?

When in doubt, call Bell Customer Service at: 1 800 667-0123 or dial *611 from any Bell mobile device to confirm the legitimacy of this call.
There is no reason for you to talk to fraudsters. They want to talk to you. There is no requirement for you to connect with them in any way, shape or form. They want to sell you something, steal something from you or add you to their live contact list!
Reputable companies such as Bell, banks, utilities & highly regarded services & institutions do not send you messages or make calls such as this! They do not call you asking to provide personal information. Hang up! Report the fraud! Delete!

Hi there, I just received a call from someone claiming to be from Bell Canada # 888 296-****. They were offering me lower prices. Was put on hold while they looked at offers. Phone called got dropped. Unsure if it was suspicious.

Hi, i received a phone call from a number that said it was from Bell Canada. it was 1-866-854-****. They called my home phone and then my cell, both with Bell, so i answered the cell call. They said - hello is this Lxxxxxx and i said yes and then they hung up. When i called the number back it said the office was closed. this was at 11:00 a.m.
what do you think is going on here?

Next time, do not call the number back...... just hang up!

I been getting calls like everyday from fake calls . I just ignore it and
So one is easy to tell and port one was a call from scammers and yes it was fake call. They are using spoofing to show oh we are in Canada . They have bad English and are like calling from India . So I know it fake big time . And how they talk are not a person working for the technology . You ask how they are clue 1 they are rude , they keep speaking and phone line sounds bad , 3 it sounds like a big call centre . I phoned bell and I can’t hear any background noise and too it sounds clear who talking . The line there using is not like what are you saying .
Wanted to share here
So people know be careful casue they are getting smart and they may get better . So stay safe people I don’t want people to fall to the fake calls and promotions .
