Hi @Hust

If the email asks you to click anywhere to get the free trial, it’s probably a scam.

Also check the address of the sender, that can give you hints on the authenticity of the email.

If you log into your online Bell account and navigate to “view current bill” or “My bills and payments” there is a “Messages” section that you can expand and read all news, updates or any other communication that Bell sends.

If the trial offer is not there, most likely it’s a phishing attempt.

Hey @Hust, thanks for reaching out to the Community.

A select number of customers may have received an email advising we have provided a speed boost trial. We can confirm that if you have received this email you do not have to take any action. The speed boost will be provided automatically during the trial period.

Hey there @namsilat

Thank you for reaching out to the Bell community 🙂

It is possible that you have received a phishing email as this offer only applies to select customers with eligible networks and Gigahub modems.

There are also some great tips to help you determine if it's a spam email in this helpful replyOpens in a new tab or window

Hi Folks,

Anyone else get this free upgrade from 1.5 Gbps to 3 Gbps? I just received an email from Bell telling me my service was upgraded for free?

Yes, I got it to. It will never happen for me.  It's a lie as far as I am concerned.  And beware if you call them to "fix" the speed.

I had problems with my speed many months ago. The support person did something that killed my cable. They sent me a new modem to "fix" the problem and that did not fix it. In fact, they could not figure out how to fix it so I cancelled my cable.

I am not getting anywhere near the speed I am supposed to on a wired connection but I won't let them touch it for fear that they dismantle my internet entirely.

Yes, that has been happening for several months. You can confirm the change by doing a speed test from the modem dashboard.

Going from 1.5 to 3gbps is really a moot point for most users.  Unless you have high end devices with a wired connection, which most people do not, you will never connect anywhere near these speeds.  Many customers don't understand this and think this translates into a faster internet without understanding it is device and condition specific.

I received an email recently from Bell that my speed was upgraded from 1.5G to 3G. Can Home Hub 4000 run that speed?
