I usually pay automatically on my credit card, but prepaid my bill a few days earlier, on line, with another card.
I was more than a little surprised to see that Bell ALSO charged my credit card for the same bill. Yippee, according to my account, I now have a credit with them. Why give me the option to pay, when you plan to Hoover the cash from my credit card anyway?
An utterly stupid company, at times.
I suppose I could call and straighten it out, but prefer not spending weekend time in an “unusually” long holding pattern.

Good Day. Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.
If you overpaid your bill in error, you would need to contact your financial institution in order to cancel or reverse the payment. Bell processes all payments upon receipt. Depending on your method of payment, it can take a minimum of 3-5 business days or more for Bell to receive your payment.
If it has already been processed by your credit card company or financial institution & it has been forwarded to Bell, then your account will be credit this overpayment & it will be applied to your next months bill reducing any amount that would be owing.
Thank you for contacting the Bell Community Forum.
Take care.

Hello,
When I was paying my bills today, the app showed me "The bill is overdue", but I paid the bill last month and Bell charged me twice. Why is this happening?

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.
Could you provide some further details? When did you pay your bill? Your method of payment?
Have you verified your account & viewed your bill & payment on MyBell? If not, then you should do so?
Login in to MyBell on the web using any browser & select your Bills & payments.
If you feel that there is a billing mistake, then you should contact Bell for an explanation. If Bell made a mistake, they will make the necessary adjustments to your account.

Bell issues your bill each & every month with the same billing date. This date does not change from month to month. If you log into MyBell and check your billing history, you will notice that the billing date is the same each & every month. Your bill is always due 30 days after this date!
If Bell does not receive your payment within 30 days of your Billing date, you are subject to late payment charges, etc. This can also affect your security or safety deposit & credit rating.
How you pay your bill & when you pay your bill is entirely up to you!
The chart I have included in this link is only a reference point for you to use. It is intended to allow you sufficient time to pay your bill by the due date.
Hopefully I have been able to answer your question.
Take care.

I recently made an online error and overpaid my bell account by $10,827.71. This payment was intended for my credit card but i sent to Bell Canada. Bell canada is not co-operating in returning these funds promptly. They are saying it will take 30-60 days for them to issue a cheque which means another 5 days in the post and then another 10 days to clear. This is totally unacceptable. Does anyone know who I can contact to expedite this as I need to pay rent and buy food. My next step is to contact the media to assist

Good Day.
If you overpaid your bill in error & it has already been processed by your credit card company or financial institution & Bell has received this payment, your overpayment will appear as a credit in the My bill section in your MyBell account.
Did you discuss this matter with a Bell Customer Service representative? What information did the service representative provide to you?
Was this a credit card of financial institution overpayment? Did you service representative explain how an overpayment such as this is handled? Did you request to speak to a manager at the time of your discussion with Bell Canada?
Bell did not make a mistake. If you overpaid your account, Bell will credit your account upon receipt of this overpayment. Once Bell receives your payment, you can verify your credit by logging in to your MyBell account. On the main screen you will see My Bill in the blue shaded box area. On the right side of the screen, you will see your account balance for all of the services that you have linked to One Bill. You will be able to view a Credit once the overpayment is received.
Should your require further assistance, please contact Bell Customer Service Accounts & Billingl: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) or dial #611 from any Bell mobile device.

Dear Bell Support Team,
My name is Abdirizak Mahamud, and I am a Bell customer. I am writing to bring to your attention an issue regarding duplicate payments for the same billing period.
I was charged $239.01 twice as shown below:
September 09, 2025 – Credit Card – $239.01
September 10, 2025 – Bank Payment – $239.01
Since this is clearly a duplicate payment, I kindly request a refund for one of the transactions.
Please find attached proof of both payments (screenshot/statement) for your reference. I would appreciate it if this matter could be resolved promptly and the overcharged amount refunded to my account.
Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,

Good Day & Welcome.
Thank you for reaching out to the Bell Community Forum.

Bell processes all payments upon receipt. Depending on your method of payment, it can take a minimum of 3-5 business days or more for Bell to receive your payment.

Bell will apply this overpayment as a credit to your account. This overpayment will show up on MyBell when the funds are received. This credit will be deducted from your next bill.
Note: You will see a CR $ amount credit on your account for the extra payment once Bell receives the funds that you overpaid in error.
To avoid a similar situation from happening in the future, you should verify and / or setup on your MyBell account in the My bill section > Payment options > Pre-authorized payments. This can be done easily & quickly with payments being made from your financial institution or credit card. Once this is set up, then there is no need for you to manually pay your bill each month.
Should you require further assistance, please contact Bell Customer Service Accounts & billing: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) or dial #611 from any Bell mobile device.
Take care.

I had signed up for the pre-authorized payment in August. However, I paid the bill of that month before they deduct it. But they deducted the same amount from my debit again and the second deduction wasn't mentioned in the past payment history too. Where do I get the refund?
