When crossing over the border to USA with a Unlimited US to Can&US calling and text plan. Do we need to do anything in order to receive calls or use our data plans. ??

Yes, Hawaii is included in US coverage. Be aware that there may be gaps in provider coverage. You can see more here. https://www.bell.ca/Mobility/Coverage_map#INT=MOB_rateplnpg_BAN_RoamBetter_Mass_061324_NW .You will have to zoom in to see Hawaii specifically.

I have a Canada, US and Mexico Plan.  I would like to know if I will be able to use this plan while in the US Virgin Islands, OR if my Roam Like Home package will be activated and charged by the day while I'm there.

I can't seem to find the answer searching online, and I even called and they were not able to access the answer for me.  Hopefully someone here can confirm.

Thanks!

I have Essential US/Mex 150GB.  Also have Roam Better activated.  Should I inactivate Roam Better when in US or Mexico? I want to be able to use phone as if I was at home using my data.

Good Day.

There is no need for you to deactivate Roam Better. If you have a Canada/US monthly plan & have Roam Better already enabled as a feature attached to your plan, you'll be able to roam without any issue in the US.

If you do not have a Canada/US plan and only have Roam Better enabled, you would see regular daily roaming charges for each day of active usage.

Enjoy your trip.

Take care.

I have the BRS BYOD Ultimate US/MX 200GB + Crave Basic plan and would like to know if Puerto Rico is included in the list of places I can roam as part of my US free roaming plan?

Thank you.

I have a question about my current plan. Can I use my plan in toronto and new york without any extra fee? (My plan said that I can use my data in usa)

Good Day.

Thank you for posting your question. Puerto Rico is not included.

If you have the Ultimate CAN/U.S./MEX Plan:

It includes calls from Canada, the U.S and Mexico to Canadian, U.S. and Mexican numbers only (Puerto Rico and the U.S Virgin Islands are not included).

Take care.

I’m travelling to the US and then going on a cruise to Bermuda. This is what my plan includes:

Will I be able to use my phone in Bermuda for calls and messages?

Thanks

Good Day.

Thank you for reaching out to the Bell Community Forum.

Unfortunately, your plan does not cover Bermuda. If you wish to use your device in Bermuda, then will need to add-on Roaming to your mobility plan and / or Mexico/Caribbean Travel Pass

Roaming will allow you to use your device in locations that are not covered by Mexico/Caribbean Travel Pass. Roaming & Mexico/Caribbean Travel Pass will not cover airline or cruise travel.

To avoid any charges while onboard your cruise, you should power your device off completely & remove your SIM before leaving the U.S. This also holds true when you leave Bermuda.

The pass is compatible with Roam Better and takes priority over Roam Better when travelling in an eligible destination (i.e., if you're using an active Travel Pass, you won't be charged the Roam Better daily fee). Once the pass expires, you revert to your regular roaming option (e.g., Roam Better or pay-per-use rates).

Each Travel Pass has a 7-day duration. If your trip is longer, you can add a second Travel Pass once the original 7-day Travel Pass has expired.

Without a data pass, you can use data while roaming at the pay-per-use rate for the country you're travelling to. You can use a maximum of $100 of data per billing period, after which you will have to purchase a data pass to continue using data while roaming.

If you subscribe to Roam Better, you’ll need a Travel Data Pass to use data in destinations not covered by Roam Better.

You can find the destination covered by the Mexico/Caribbean Travel Pass below;

Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Curacao, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, French Guiana, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, Montserrat, Saba, Sint Maarten, St. Barts, St. Eustatius, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Martin, St. Vincent & Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks & Caicos.

Thank you for your reply! We will only be in Bermuda for 2 days and the rest of the time will be on the ship so would I be better off just getting the room better package which I think also includes Bermuda?

Yes. This would be the most reasonable way to go. Keep in mind that Roam Better does not cover usage on an airplane or cruise ship; neither does your CAN/US/MEX plan.

Roam Better - internationally is $16.00 / day + HST

The surest method to avoid any roaming charges when you travel is to remove your SIM card. Roaming is only activated once your SIM card connects to a network outside of Canada. Therefore, if you remove your SIM card prior to arriving in the country and connecting to their network, roaming will not be activated.

  1. Turn your device Airplane mode to on.
  2. Power your device off & remove your SIM.
  3. Power your device on.

If your device is in Airplane mode, you can also connect to a Wi-Fi network & Bluetooth manually. You need to remove your SIM card prior to leaving Canada. In the event there is any mobile network connection active on the phone, once the SIM card is inserted and it's able to connect, Roam Better is initiated.

While outside of Canada, making and receiving calls, sending text messages, checking your voicemail, and using data (including Instagram, Whatsapp, or TikTok, etc., and sharing or receiving a picture via text) all count as Roaming usage and / or Pay Per Use usage rates.

Thank you for posting your question.

Have a great trip.

Take care.

Good Day.

If your plan includes Unlimited CAN/U.S./MEX calling, texting and data, then there is no need for you to add Roaming.

If you have a Canada/US/Mex monthly plan & have Roam Better already enabled as a feature attached to your plan, then yes, you'll be able to roam without any issue in the US. All usage will be zero rated as part of your plan. If you otherwise do not have a Canada/US/Mex plan and only have Roam Better enabled, you will see regular daily roaming charges for each day of active usage.

Roaming allows you to use your device in international locations that are not covered by the Ultimate CAN/U.S./MEX Plan.

CAN/U.S./MEX Plan & Roam Better do not cover usage on an airplane or cruise ship.
