Hi there @Wedgeman
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
The LD connection fee is a one time charge per month if you make a long distance call on your home phone. The rate of the fee may vary depending on if  / what long distance package you have. Whereas you've indicated you do not subscribe to a long distance package, if you make a long distance call you will be charged the $2.95 connection fee plus the basic long distance rate per minute.

Good Day.

If you subscribe to Bell Home phone & have the Unlimited Canada and US long distance package, the $2.95 LD connection fee does not apply.

Take care.

Can you provide more specifics? Is this charge on your One Bill Home phone service?

Without knowing all of the facts & details, I believe this is a charge related to the use of directory assistance (4-1-1)

If that is the case, I have attached a link that explains this type of charge & how to avoid them.

How to use directory assistance (4-1-1)

It is under “miscellaneous charges” and under my home phone charges.  It is for 2.95. I have never used 411 directory assistance.  Also I do not subscribe to any long distance plan.

Give Bell Customer service Billing & payments a call. If they made a mistake, they will correct it!  Their number is: 1-866-310-BELL

Thanks. I think I will do that.

Hi, just curious does this $2.95 connection fee still apply to the first long distance call in a billing cycle if the customer has a long distance package on their home phone such as the unlimited Canada and USA calling package for $10 per month?
