I noticed the following announcements on my April 2025 bill for my Bell services. This is for Satellite TV customers only. Given that many don't see announcements, this is an advance notice for you, if you use these services.

  • Starting June 1, 2025, On Demand content and Pay-per-view movies will no longer be available through your Satellite TV receiver(s). Don't worry, On Demand content is still available through the Fibe TV app and you can still enjoy Pay-per-view live events. Also note that the way recordings can be managed is changing. You'll just need to manage them through your PVR and the Fibe TV app separately. For more info on the Fibe TV app, please visit bell.ca/apptv
  • As of May 20, WildBrainTV, Family Channel, Family Junior and Télémagino will no longer be offered. For questions or to add, cancel or modify your services, call 1 866 310-2355.

We have Bell satellite with a 9500 PVR receiver.

My wife travels during the week. Using her laptop, she used to be able to log into the tv.bell.ca website and be able to watch our PVR recorded programs. Now she clicks on recordings, and it is empty (says No Recordings). We tried rebooting the PVR, and logging back into the tv.bell.ca, but still no luck.

Has something changed? I went to the on demand section of the receiver and see Bell stopped this option. Are the two related? Did Bell also stopped the ability to watch the PVR recorded programs?

That is correct. On Demand has been removed from Bell Satellite TV as of June 1.

Thank you WelshTerrier!

I have Satellite TV (the 9500 receiver) and on my iPad, the FibeTV app but I really thought it was all connected.

Does this mean now that I have to set up the recording on BOTH my Receiver and App separately ? That seems a little inefficient to me as I thought the whole point of the app was to watch what you recorded on your Receiver.

So to add to all the frustration, I went out and bought a smart TV, one I could afford, only to find out Bell only supports specific smart TVs. Roku is an affordable TV with media capability however Bell does not support this brand.  So not only am I unable to access on demand on my 4 TVs, I bit the bullet and bought a TV and Bell won’t work with it. I chatted with Bell and there was absolutely no empathy or regard to the services I have, the situation or my financial limitations. In the end Bell says they will send me 1 media device and it is up to me to unplug, move and rehookup the device to the tv I want to watch each and every time. So if I want to watch a movie or show with my grandchildren I have to spend 10-15 mins setting things up, and then if I have a movie I want to watch that is not appropriate for young kids then I have to spend 15 mins to unhook and move then setup again. No point paying for 4 receivers for separate TVs for family and friends when me and my family cannot enjoy them.
Obviously Bell isn’t listening, doesn’t care, and is solely focused on profits over customers . Time to look at alternatives to Bell

Thank you for your clarification. I have multiple 9500 receivers and the fibe app. They are not interconnected, that I have ever found. The Fibe app and the Fibe streamer are intended to use a Bell internet connection. Bell Satellite TV is a separate service with a receiver that can be plugged into the internet, but that connection is not required to watch or use the service.

You might want to wait. Bell has just announced a programming deal with Disney+. The package will be available on a variety of platforms including Roku. There are no details in the press release, however. https://www.bellmedia.ca/the-lede/press/bell-media-and-disney-entertainment-announce-disney-crave-an...

I am a Satellite user for 30+years last week an update was done which has removed access to my PVR recordings on the FibeTV app.  Was advised if I had a Fibe subscription not Satellite I would still have access to them.  Why as a Satellite customer am I not entitled to the same service as Fibe????   Was RUDELY told by the call center too bad there is no complaint I can lodge however there is a phone number available but he doesn't have it.  Said I would have to go into the "Office" but he is not in Canada so does not know where that would be.  Couldn't understand why I was upset at being treated differently as I was not the only one it's all Satellite users.  Is this affecting others??? I know they want me to give up Satellite and move to Fibe so they can charge a monthly fee for the receivers I paid for mine and am not accepting this!

“My Receivers” option no longer showing on my FibeTV apps on either my Sony TV or iPhone 13.

Also not showing any recordings or scheduled recordings.

I have a 9500 and 9241

I have one PVR and the remainder of TV’s are Fire tv’s. Last week, all of the Fibe tv’s say ‘no recordings’. Why? There have always been recording available within the last 60 days. I would like that back please.

I am on the phone now with Bell and am being told that the ability to watch recorded shows on your app was taken away from subscribers on June 2.  Still on hold waiting for more clarification.

Thank you for the information. Seems wrong to me as I’m paying good money for the service but unable to enjoy from the tv of choice. What do you think? Do you know if that is up for discussion? I’ll probably have to make the dreaded call too

I was just told that this service for satellite subscribers was eliminated as of June 2nd and satellite subscribers will no longer be able to watch recorded shows on the app.  And there was nothing that could be done to correct this. A one-time nominal compensation was offered.

Thank you for this update, seems wrong. I’ll call them and see if I can get the compensation cup of coffee lol

have a good evening!
