Fast Forward through a partially recorded episode - Fibe TV

We typically start watching a show we are recording about a half-hour after it starts… so we can fast forward through the commercials until we “catch up” to the live tv. We just moved from Rogers to Bell Fibe and seemingly cannot do this? The PVR function gives us a message “Skip forward not available” when we try this.

Good Day.

That is correct.  "Skip forward is not available” when you are trying to do this. You cannot Skip forward on a live program that is being recorded. Similarly, you cannot Skip forward if you are using Restart.

Please have a look at the following article.

What is Restart and how do I use it?

Take care.

I recorded a sporting event and would like to fast forward but it will not allow me to. Does anyone know this feature is not allowed?

I'm relatively new to Bell Fibe, at least since I just switched back from another provider. I haven't come across this question yet. I cannot PLAY a recording while the show is being recorded. I thought I would be able to. Example - recording an early morning News/Entertainment show starting at 6:00am. Get up at 7:00am and want to watch the show. I cannot PLAY the recording, I can only RESTART the program. Problem.....just restarting won't allow for fast forwarding, which is the whole reason to record it and start watching it at any time I wish. Does anybody else wish for that option? I'm guessing there is no way around this?   Thanks.

Good Day Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

This is a peer-to-peer website. As such, we do not have access to your account and equipment records. We would like to help you but cannot do so with the limited information you have provided. "Watch recording while recording."

  1. Which Bell TV service do you subscribe? Fibe TV, Fibe TV App or Satellite TV.
  2. Please tell us more about the equipment you are using. E.g. Modem, receivers, Bell Streamer, Firestick, Computer, Application, etc.
  3. Have you checked out any of the support articles for the equipment you are using? Tutorials?

We just need more in order to do more for you......

Let us know & we will do our best to assist in answering your questions.

Take care.

Thanks. I am using Fibe TV, directly from my Bell WI-FI Giga Hub Modem. (guess that's what it's called) I only have the one TV using the standard Fibe TV box. I do have other equipment but the TV is what I am concerned with. However, I will tell you I have another TV which I am watching Bell Fibe thru the Amazon Firestick. I have two phones but do not have the Bell Fibe TV App installed yet. I also have a computer which I prefer to use use to connect to MY Bell with.
I just though it odd not to be able to PLAY a recording from the start, even if the recording is still taking place. I also wouldn't think I'm the only one that would want to do this, but I haven't come across anything yet on the community.

I record and watch other recordings all the time.  You might want to reboot or reset your connections with bell.  I record 14 football games every Sunday.  As each game is recording i watch any of the others.  Fast forward, reverse etc.  So what you are requesting is achievable

Hi @Gronk
Thank you for your post.
When you indicate you record the episode at 6AM and get up at 7AM and attempt to watch the recording, is the program done being recorded or did it finish at 7AM when you got up?
Are you going to the recordings section to access the recording or are you attempting this from the guide?
Looking forward to hearing back.
