Fibe TV app having Virgin Plus update warning

For several weeks now when I open my BELL FIBE TV app (downloaded via Google Play Store) ver. 16.0.5.59787 I will from time to time get a nag notification telling me to upgrade to the Virgin TV Plus app. Claiming as of October 13th I must upgrade. As this occurs infrequently I was not able to get a screen shot.

Just to clarify, what type of device are you using?

Does this notification pop up right in the Bell Fibe TV app while you are watching live content?

 

The two apps do not coincide with each other, and it appears to simply be a notification from the Virgin Plus app in the background.

 

A few things that you can try are:

  • Reboot your device.
  • Uninstall/reinstall the app.
  • Uninstall the Virgin Plus app entirely (if you are not using it).

Let us know how everything is going.

Do you happen to have a Virgin SIM card in the phone by chance or do you know if the phone was purchased through Virgin?
Have you tried to un-install and re-install the Fibe TV app? If not, we would suggest trying that.

 oddly enough I never had the Virgin TV app installed I am using a Motorola Moto G7 Play smartphone without data over Bell Fibe wifi, this is a retired phone that I use as a wifi tablet. The Virgin pop-up appears when I open my Fibe TV app. I mostly use it to control the TVs as it works better than the remote control.
