Fibe tv keeps switching to Netflix/Amazon

My Fibe tv keeps switching to Netflix while I am watching tv. It just kicks us out of whatever we are watching and launches Netflix. It’s completely random but will kick us out about once every 20 minutes.

Another variable is the batteries in your remotes. Low batteries can cause strange behaviours. Change the batteries both the TV remote and the receiver remote.

Hello, my fibe 4k receiver suddenly switches from any channel I watch to the Prime app. We don't touch the remote and it just switches by itself. What can I do to fix this?

Thank you

Tv randomly switches to Prime Video. Happened 3 times in the last hour. Happened off and on over the last couple of months. Had to get a new box for unrelated issues, and thought it might stop. No such luck. Using the box and don’t even have our firestick installed right now.

I’m having this problem solely with the Bell 4K receiver.  So far tech support has replaced the receiver 3 times this year and have submitted a 2nd request to replace the remote.

Is there any update with this?

Thanks!!

Hello @SusanInOn

See @Martinacan's solution above.

Hi @BellDRock

I did look at it and it mainly has to do with the Fibe TV app and I’m only having issues on the 4K receiver.

As I mentioned, it has been replaced and the problem continues

The last fix tech support gave me was to remove the batteries, from the remote, while watching TV.  To say the least, I will not be doing that.

Thanks

Susan

When you say using the "Fibe TV app",  are you using a 4K smart TV with the Fiber TV app installed on it?

Or a Bell PVR?

I’m not having a problem with the Five TV app

The problem is only on the 4K receiver that has a PVR.  I’m trying to put a link for the Bell site, but it doesn’t let me. The box is a 4K Whole Home PVR.

Thanks

Hi there @SusanInOn
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Are you able to share which receiver model you have (5662, 2262)?
Which app(s) are you experiencing this issue with (that open by themselves)?
Can you share how you normally exit your apps being used on your receiver (what steps / buttons you use)?
Looking forward to hearing back.

Ok so it's the same problem I had.

When you are in the prime app, make sure you use back/exit button on your bell pvr remote. Hit the back exit button at least twice until you see a dialog box on your TV asking you if you want to quit the application...  Click the yes button.

See if this solves your problem

Similar method is required for netflix...but i found the prime app seem to cause the most issues

Hi!!

I have a VIP5662W.

It only opens to Prime Video but it doesn’t happen on a daily basis.

To get back to the live show, I press either Back/Exit or Guide.  And if I’m watching a recorded show, I press the PVR button.

I just received the 2nd new remote today, and got a new receiver last week, so will see when it happens again

Thanks

Hi,

I would prefer not to exit Prime Video, as I’d have to login constantly, but it won’t hurt to try.

Thanks!!

Hi Susan,

When I exit prime, then go back into prime...I don't have to log back in.  I just have to select who is watching  prime...

The first time I used the prime app on the PVR, I had to log in with the user name and password...but once that was entered, the account information must have been saved by the PVR.

Good luck,

Martin
