Hi, I am struggling to figure out why my PVR won't turn on. I have tried unplugging it and waiting to plug it back in, and have checked to make sure that both ends are properly plugged in. Despite the fact that it shows no sign of life, the box does heat up when plugged in, which tells me that it is at least receiving power.
Of note: The Bell Remote does work. When I press the power button, the remote lights up green. The problem seems to be with the box itself which does not show any lights at all.
Any idea what the issue might be?

Hey @Carmen11. Thanks for your post, and welcome to the Community.
Something definitely seems wrong! Can you share which receiver model you have?
As @AlexS suggested, did you select the correct HDMI source via your TVs video settings? Have you tried a different power outlet/tested the equipment on another TV? Is the HDMI cord plugged in securely to both the TV and receiver?
If this issue continues our Virtual repair tool is a great way to troubleshoot! The Virtual repair tool will:
- Look for service outages in your area
- Check the equipment outside your home
- Reboot all your hardware
- Optimize the settings for your service
Check out the Virtual repair tool
If this does persist it is possible that a replacement receiver is needed.
Let the Community know how everything goes. 🙂

Patricia, hello and thank you! As for the model I have, it's the VIP5662 - 4K Whole Home PVR. Running through your suggestions:
1. I did make sure to use the correct HDMI source. Just for fun I tried with all sources, to see if I hadn't accidentally mixed something up, but it did not work for any.
2. I do not unfortunately have another TV to test it on, but for reference, I use an NVidia Shield along with my PVR, and tried swapping which outlet they were plugged into; The Shield still powered on fine, but the PVR did not. I have double checked to make sure each ends of the HDMI and power cord are properly plugged in.
I will try out using the virtual repair tool, thank you for bringing it to my attention! If all goes well my next response will bring good news. 🙂

Tuesday 14 February 2023
4K Receiver VIP5662W was working normally. I briefly went downstairs during a commercial break in the middle of watching my favourite show airing on Live TV. I returned only 8 minutes later, and I found:
✗Receiver lights no longer appear
✗Pressing/holding receiver's <Power> button does nothing
✗Pressing remote's <Power> button does nothing
✗Disconnecting/Reconnecting receiver's power source does nothing
✗my Bell 4K Fibe Receiver VIP5662W no longer shows any signs that it is receives power/electricity, regardless of where it is plugged in
✓ Electricity to the house intact; All circuits functioning normally
✓ Remote for affected 4K Receiver also functioning normally
✓ Additional Bell Fibe receiver in our house remains functional
The affected 4K Receiver has not been touched, moved, or even interfered with in any way. It just suddenly ceased functioning. There are recordings on it I didn't get to watch yet:(

My receiver isn't working. I ensured it was plugged in, changed batteries on the remote and tried to turn it on manually at the receiver and NOTHING! Now what?

When you say your 4K receiver is dead, what do you mean? No power on front panel? No receiver display lights? No TV screen picture? Please elaborate.
- Have you verified all of the cables are seated properly in the back of the receiver? No loose, unplugged or defective cables.
- When you power on the TV, what do you see? Is your HDMI making a good connection on the back of the TV? Have you tried unplugging it & replacing it? Have you verified that the the TV & receiver or connected to correct HDMI port?
- Is your modem powered on? Any error messages?
- Have you rebooted your modem? Unplugged the power & waited 20-30 seconds?
- Have you rebooted your receiver after rebooting your modem?
- Do you have more than one TV & receiver? If so, are they working?
- Do you Internet? Is it working properly?
- Have you tried running the Bell Virtual Repair Tool?

Have you check the power? Remote control batteries? Are cables secured & attached to the pvr & TV? TV is on? Have you unplugged the PVR from the power source. If not, then you should do so, & then plug it back in after waiting 45 seconds.
I have attached the following link to assist you if you need to go any further.
Start in the Trouble shooting section by doing a reset of your PVR.
