I recently upgraded from an older Sony tv to a newer Samsung and of course the voice remote does not work properly. I can change channels but it wont turn the tv off or on and will not adjust volume up or down. I searched the Bell website for help but could not find anything that gives me what I need to program the remote.  I had the instructions at one point but it seems they have been misplaced. Anyone????

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

I have included the following web link that will assist you in setting up your Bell TV remote for your Samsung TV. Please follow the steps in the tutorial.

As a starting point, if your Voice remote control was previously setup for your Sony TV, you will need to Factory reset the voice remote control in order to program it to your Samsung TV.

Factory Reset

  1. Select Settings from the home screen.
  2. Scroll down to the Support section and select Remote Settings.
  3. Select Reset.

Now that the remote has been reset to factory settings, the next steps will guide you through programming the remote using the appropriate code.

Programming the Remote Control

  1. Select Settings from the home screen.
  2. Scroll down to the Support section and select Remote Settings.
  3. Select Setup.
  4. Press the mute button on your remote.
  5. If the sound on your TV is muted, select Done.
  6. If the sound on your TV isn’t muted, select Try again. Repeat until you’re able to mute your TV.
  7. Press OK on your remote again to exit.

Please note:  TV manufacturers have more than one remote control code. If the first code does not control the power volume +/-, mute & power on / off, keep trying until you come up with the correct code that does all of the functions.

@WelshTerrier

Here is my problem.  When I select Remote Settings I get Error 2000 - This remote is not paired to this receiver.

I had previously looked at this link you provided and got the result I just described.

I took a look through the other posts on this problem and was able to take care of mine by resetting the receiver or "box".  I'm a firm believer in "Forums"

Good Day.

@JesseJ  Glad to hear that your new Samsung TV is now connected to your Fibe TV Box.

My next suggestion would have been for you to press the Multifunction button on the VIP7802. A menu will pop up with options to Pair/Unpair accessories, Reboot, Factory reset etc.

FYI only. I did not receive your email yesterday. There is no means to send an email to a member of the Bell Community Forum.

Bell slim remote not configuring to Sony Bravia X A95L

My issue is that I followed the instruction to pair the slim remote to the TV by following the 'press option 3 seconds ...etc ...steps ".  The TV does shut off and I do press the Select button, green light flashes twice.  However when I press the power button on the slim remote, the TV does not turn on. Any clue why that is?

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

This is a very common setup issue with most new TV's today. With the expansion of TV models & the vast array of new features that accompany Smart TVs & their peripherals, you will encounter this problem.

Many of the popular TV manufactures have expanded their list of remote codes that they are using. Your remote control is not paired properly with your new Sony Bravia X A95L TV. It needs to be programmed with the correct Sony remote code.

Before you start, you need to obtain the correct remote-control code for Sony Bravia TV. The model number you have provided is either incorrect or incomplete. The model number may be found on a sticker on the back, on the front lower portion of the frame, or in the System Information menu. You can also check the cover of your TV manual or purchase receipt for the model number. Model number example: KDL-65HX729

Once you have the correct model number for your TV, please enter this information into the following web link. This will provide you with the correct remote control code for your  Sony TV. Remote Control Codes & Programming

To begin with, you will need to reset your Slim remote control to factory settings.

Note: the remote will no longer control the TV and audio devices you have programmed.

  1. On your remote, press and hold the Options button for 3 seconds, until the green light flashes twice.
  2. Within 10 seconds, enter 0000.
  3. Press Select.
  4. The green light will blink twice to confirm the commands have been successfully cleared.

Now that the remote has been reset to factory settings, the next steps will guide you through programming the remote using the appropriate code.

  1. Press and hold the OPTIONS button for 3 seconds until the TV light flashes twice.
  2. Enter the 4-digit code from the previous step using your remote. You must enter the code within 10 seconds. If correct, the TV light flashes twice. If incorrect, it lights up for 2 seconds.
  3. Press and hold the POWER button.
  4. Once your TV turns off, release the POWER button and press SELECT. The TV light will flash twice to confirm it has been successfully programmed.
  5. Test the TV commands (volume, power).

Note: if the TV commands are still not working, you may need to repeat the steps above using another code. If no other Sony codes that are available work, you will need to contact Sony tech support to obtain assistance.

My volume is not working on the voice command remote. I’ve done the troubleshooting on the bell app. I’ve had this issue before and now I can’t remember how I fixed it.

Good day @Denise12345

Let us know how everything goes,

@BellPatricia

In 3 years we have had a lot of issues with the voice activation not working. Each time we have to reboot the box. Every so often the remote unpairs and we have to call tech support. Last time I was on the phone with them for 2 hours. As a result one remote has been unpaired for over a week to avoid another 2 hour call.

I am curious if these issues are fairly common.

Hi @Berly

Welcome to the Bell community 🙂

If you are still having trouble pairing your remote to the TV we recommend following these steps on how to factory reset the remoteOpens in a new tab or window

Let the community know if you need any more help.

@BellPatricia

I have performed a Factory Reset many times. I have rebooted the receiver many times. I have rebooted the modem many times.

I have far too many issues with the remote.

Good day @Berly

Thank you for your reply.

Perhaps you simply need to unpair/pair the remote. Just follow the steps below, and then let us know if you are still having trouble.

  • Press the little Multi Function button on the side panel of your receiver to bring up the Menu.
  • Select unpair remote.
  • On the remote, simultaneously press the Pause/Play button and the Home button until the light on the remote starts flashing red (approximately 3 seconds)
  • Press OK on the remote
  • Press the home button on the remote
  • Select Support or Settings
  • Select Remote settings
  • Select Setup and then follow the prompts to pair remote with your TV

@BellPatricia

Just had Fibetv installed 2 days ago and having issues with one of my tvs and receiver. When I hit the power button to turn off my tv I get a msg on the screen that doesn’t go away and my tv remains on with this msg “fibetv no signal please check the input connection. Only way I can actually turn off my tv completely is to use the tv converter as it won’t turn off completely with the Bell converter. I can turn the tv on with my Bell converter though. I did a Bell test of my modem, etc and it said there was an issue but didn’t explain what the issue was. My other tv and Bell converter is working fine. What might be the problem with the other tv with the msg coming up?

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

Thank you reach out to the community. Have look at the following suggestions:

  1. Please verify that you Bell Fibe TV receiver is securely connected to the HDMI input on your TV. Now turn on your TV using your TV remote. Verify that the corresponding HDMI input is selected. You should now view a Bell logo on your screen. If this does not solve your problem, go to the next step.
  2. Your TV and the Fibe TV box are either out of sync or your remote is not programmed correctly to match your make & model of TV. Please follow the instructions that are included in this next web link below

If none of the above resolve your problem, please run the Bell Virtual Repair Tool. Please refer to the following web link for instructions: Fibe TV: virtual repair tool and support

Should you still require assistance, please call Fibe TV tech support at: 1 866 797-8686

Take care.
