Need new Bell Streamer remote

My bell streamer remote got crushed by accident. I can’t find a place online to buy a replacement. Does anyone know how I can get a new one? Or are there any third party remotes that will work? Or do I have to buy a whole new streamer/remote bundle? Thanks!

@Hayley

The Bell Streamer is only compatible to work with the provided Google Assistant remote control. However you can use the Google Home app on your phone/tablet to set up and control the Streamer.

Have a nice day!

As an alternative you can use the Google home app.

  • Open home app
  • Go to devices
  • Find bell streamer
  • You will see a volume control
  • You can also open the remote option
  • Settings from more three vertical dots
  • Choose d-pad for the navigation you are used to seeing on remote.
  • You have a limited remote with Google assistant icon. Back u turn sign volume and mute.
  • You can also cast fibe TV app to the streamer and I am not sure if volume control on phone will control it.

Good luck and hopefully these remotes are still around to replace from bell.

@BellPatricia was awesome and was able to ship a replacement remote to me.

@BellPatricia Can you please help me replace my bell steamer remote? I spent hours on the phone with Bell and no one knew how to order one. Thanks

Let me save you all some time here after going through this myself - you will only get a replacement remote if your streamer is within the 12 month warranty period. If it’s not, you need to buy a new streamer completely (which is a huge waste). @BellPatricia will any other bell or third party remote work instead?

More details on setting up the home app and using it with 7802 and streamer is at

https://support.bell.ca/fibe_tv/receivers/connecting_your_google_account_and_fibe_tv_box?step=6#step...

I also use my Google home mini with Google assistant. It isn't always reliable as the Google home mini is a routing device and can loose its link to the box. One quirk is that Netflix requires me to say ok Google pause Netflix when talking to the mini.

You can also control attached Google assistant supported like light switches, plugs, thermostats, etc from the assistant on the remote.

I control pause for example by saying ok Google pause (Fibe TV name, mine for simplicity is named TV and the streamer is named streamerl so ok Google pause TV. Ok Google resume TV.

Ok Google set volume to 50% on TV.

Just a little benefit to play with.

I just wanted to comment that it is so strange that at the support level they don't have one of these: tools knowledge or authority, yet forum staff can provide support on accessing a replacement. Glad you can do this, but disengeartening for those who don't use web info or forums but prefer direct conversation. Your sending of dm takes it to direct person to person conversation, but I spoke to a supervisor recently who had a real hesitation when I said one staff had taken initiative to do general web search and found my answer literally on the Google search providing forum link. The supervisor after 30 seconds thought in silence said, support staff are not directed to do web search or forum as these are not official approved solutions.

Thanks to the team for providing this alternative source of direct support, although with the number of users on the forum, I am sure it is a tiny representation of support. At least on the web they suggest the forum.

Just an observation and thanks.

We have the Bell Streamer. When using the remote, we highlight channel we want, hit ok and a different channel comes on. When we go back the selected channel is totally different than the one we selected. We have talked to customer service, they WILL NOT replace the remote, they will not even sell us a new one. They said we have to buy a universal remote at a store. We bought one today. It has codes for Simpleset. It connected OK to the TV and will turn it on and off. We can see the tv guide but cannot change anything. It will not connect to the bell streamer. The instructions have no option for Bell Streamer, just Bell STB. ( not even sure what that is but it doesn't work either) There is another option to setup by code. Does anyone know the code for connecting remote to Bell Streamer?

Hey there @Darlene
