SKIP FWD Button Bell Satellite TV

Bell Satellite TV (not FibeTV)

The SKIP FWD Button used to fast forward a PVR program by 30 seconds  It was great for watching recorded NFL games. Both of my PVR's now go forward by 60 seconds when I use SKIP FWD. Anyone know how to change it back to 30 seconds?

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

Which TV service do you have? Fibe TV? Bell Satellite TV?

Bell Satellite TV remote control basics

How to move forward and backward in a show with the Fibe TV app on Android TV (bell.ca)

Take care.

Hi there @Jawzzy

Thank you for reaching out to the Bell community 🙂

What type of hard drive do you have connected? Have you tested the function to see if that still happens when the hard drive is unplugged?

Hi there @BigTuna
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Are you able to share what model PVR's you have with your service?
Do you happen to know when this first started occurring?
Looking forward to hearing back.

I'm using two 6131 receivers, each with an external hard drive installed.

I honestly do not know when the change occurred. The last NFL game I watched was the SuperBowl in Feb 2023. It worked fine at that time.

I first noticed the issue last Sunday after the Buffalo Bills game. I recorded it. When I watched it 2 nites ago, I realized the SKIP FWD button was jumpinng ahead by 60 seconds, instead of 30 seconds.

Since that time, I have also determined the SKIP BACK button reverses by 20 seconds, instead of 10 seconds.

I noticed the exact same thing for the exact same reason. I reset the PVR to factory defaults but it made no difference. Were you able to figure this out?

No. Your info confirms that Bell has made a change, most likely from a software or firmware upgrade. The problem is, Bell hasn't notified anyone about the change.

Did this ever get resolved? My skip fwd and skip back button are at 60 seconds.

I have the same issue with my 6131 and hard drive connected obviously.  Skips forward 60sec instead of 30 and back 60 from live, and back 30 when not live instead of 10. It's ONLY an issue with my 6131, and not my 9242/41 or 9400.  It's got to be something to do with the hard drive connected and the communication between it and the 6131. Has anyone found a method or fix for this issue yet?  I remember now I took this unit out of service because of this issue, but now I need it to replace my 9241 that's having stuttering issues. It's really a bad nuisance to deal with the non 30/10 second skips.

No, same system I've had for years.  As stated, I took it out of commission for this reason, but now need it again and nothing's changed with the skip forward backward issue.

Thanks, but think about it!!!  How would I be able to test the skip forward or backward if there's no HD connected 😞

And I'm using the Lacie HD that's always been suggested by Bell.

FYI to all.

I have two 6131 receivers with a Buffalo EHD connected to each.  The issue started AFTER I installed these two EHD's. Been using them for several years.

I just tried a much smaller solid state EHD, and SAME issues.  I'm going to try a 5900rpm next week and see if that helps as all the ones so far have been 7200rpm HDs.  I still think it's a receiver firmware issue, and with Bell Fibe,
