I just had Bell Fibe 1Gb internet and Fibe Tv with the new 4K Cloud PVR installed.
I notice when you boot or reboot the Fibe box, the Dolby Vision icon will display on my LG OLED tv. If I check the video display info on my Denon receiver it indicates it is receiving a Dolby Vision signal from the Fibe Tv box. This is for every channel and causes the picture to look very contrasty due to Dolby Vision being on all the time.
I can't find a setting to turn of or control HDR settings. I have an Nividia Shield 2019 model and there are options on it to disable HDR settings. This doesn't happen when I use the Fibe TV app on the Shield.
Please advise as this will potentially over time damage an OLED tv with burn in.
Thanks.

Hello everyone,
The issue appears to stem from either the TV or AVR (audio video receiver) using Dolby Vision and the 7802 receiver using HDR, and how they conflict.
To remedy, you can try one of the following:
- Turn off Dolby Vision on your TV or AVR
- Connect your 7802 receiver directly to your TV and use an optical cord for the audio
My personal set up is: 7802 connected to TV via HDMI and optical cord from my sound bar/AVR to the TV

Hi there @jmacd27. Thanks for your post, and welcome to the Bell Community.
To modify the audio and visual settings simply access the settings on your Fibe TV Box (press the button with nine dots beside the OK button on your remote) then scroll down to Audio and Visual and select Visual. Once there you should be able to modify the settings.
Let the Community know if you need help with anything else.
Have a nice day 🙂

Thank you for the reply Patricia.
The instructions you give to access the settings in not correct for this new box.
Regardless I have already gone through all settings on this Nee 4K Cloud PVR and here are no options to control the Dolby Vision.
I have reached out to Bell support on another forum and they have submitted this to your TV software development team to look at. I will report back here when I hear back about this issue.
Regards.

Hey there @jmacd27. Hope you are doing well.
We just wanted to follow up with you on this. Can you change the resolution on your Fibe TV Box from Auto to 4K? Doing this should allow you disable HDR.
Looking forward to hearing back from you 🙂

I'm doing well Patricia.
I have tried all the available resolutions from 4K down to 720. The issue is the same with Dolby Vision activating during the boot sequence and staying on. There is no options to change the HDR setting in any of the resolutions selected.
Thanks again for following up.

Hi! You won't be able the change it on the Bell PVR.
You can disable Dolby Vision for your current HDMI input with your LG TV in
General > Devices >HDMI Settings > HDMI Deep Color > Off

I run all my sources through a Denon Receiver so this would disable HDR for all my other sources as well. It would be a pain to have to keep switching HDR on and off, so this is why Dolby Vision being on all the time when it isn't currently needed is an issue that needs to be corrected.
Cheers.

This is superior irritating. Blows out all the colours on every channel. Surprised this box can’t tell what is HDR and what is not, and output accordingly.
HDR always on, and apparently inferior video quality to the 4K Whole Home PVR.
Not impressed so far.
Anything new to share on this?

The picture quality on the new cloud PVR box is inferior to the 4K Home PVR, and even the Bell Fibe App on my TV, or Apple TV.
Lots of noise, washed out picture quality, and text/graphics are terrible.
HDR is forced on even for non—HDR content.
CNN is the worst so far.
None of these issues are present on the Fibe TV apps.
I still have my old box, can I go back?

So there’s no on/off button in the settings? Have you tried anything else?
What’s the fastest Internet you and neighbours can get? I know some buildings have vary ranges in different units, meaning the lines are complicated. It might be another factor when the data traffic has been increasing due to the switchover and other reasons.
Black Friday & cyber Monday are coming. Do you have a roommate, spouse, landlord or someone else who could register a new plan under this address? Of course, try talk to the loyalty dep. first.

No choice to turn HDR on or off. The ONLY picture setting on the Bell box is resolution.
Seems like the compression quality is poorer on the new box.
I have gigabit fibe service. I kept my old PVR, I may try to switch back. Such a letdown. The new box also doesn’t work with my brand new TV remote, so I need two remotes now.
Pretty sad this is the best quality they offer now, especially with such huge bandwidth available.

This certainly is irritating. It is getting close to two months and not a hint of what Bell is doing to resolve this. I am paying for a PVR box and I can't use it unless I want a terrible picture and I lose access to 4k if I use the app.
Can we please get an ETA of when this fairly simple issue will be resolved?
