Call waiting - No Flash or Beep indicator

Phone no longer flashes when there is a message nor does the dial tone beep

Welcome to the Bell Community, and thank you for reaching out.
It sounds like your Call Answer message notification function has been turned off. To reactivate this feature follow the steps below:
Dial *98.
Enter your password.
Press 4,1,3.

Oops should have posted a big thank you to @BellNick here, he was able to look further into my issue and Bell found a problem on their end that was preventing my indicator from flashing , thanks again Nick 🙂

My call answer notification function had somehow become turned off. Dial star 98, enter your password & reach settings by pressing 4,1,3 then turn it back on. It worked for my problem

  • Have the same issue since Bell moved my phone service from copper to Fiber , tech support tried for a day to correct the issue with no results, then they quietly went away

Callie here, wish it was that simple , I have had two Bell online support people spend several hours trying to resolve the problem 🤔

Had you tried turning the function on as suggested? If so, did it make any changes or do you still not see the flash when a message is present?

Hello @BellNick  tried turning on my indicator function , it was already on so I turned it off then on again , still no flashing light or stuttered dial tone

I had bell fibe installed several months ago.  the message waiting has never worked.

I have done the suggested routine numerous times, all to no avail.

It is a tedious routine to have to go into the voice mailbox every time to see if there are any messages when your technology has the capability to have the dial tone beep when there are messages.

Can this be fixed?????
