Well I know have phone service the line is without static and it works. Ist time since early Sept when I first phone in. They tried to fix the static, then it went completely dead about the 17th of Sept. - now it works...

Many thanks to the Tech who climbed the Hydro pole this morning in the cold and wind to repair what ever was broken

Good Day.

Thanks to you for your patience, understanding & tolerance. It appears the problem was related to a damaged cable that needed to be repaired.

A cable repair technician was dispatched to isolate the ground fault & make the repair. It is one of the more difficult troubles to search out & find. It must be there every step of the way. It is comparative to finding a rattle or a squeak that comes & goes.

There are many different causes that can result in a static & noisy copper line. E.g. moisture, lightning, in climate weather change from a quick thaw or fast freezing, rodents, loose connection, etc.

It should not have taken 2-3 weeks to isolate & fix your telephone service.

Take care.

I plugged the phone cord into Tel 1 behind modem, phone is on but no dial tone.

You can check to see if your home phone is working by using the Virtual Repair Tool on the MyBell app or web page. Are there any messages?

Dial tone for your Bell Home phone originates from the green telephone jack on the back of your modem. A phone cord must ultimately plug in to the Tel 1 jack on the back of the modem.

You mentioned that you plugged a telephone in to the Tel 1 jack & there was no "No dial tone."

  1. Is this a new Home phone service?
  2. Have you tried to plug in a different telephone? This will confirm whether you have a phone or a modem issue.
  3. Is your modem powered on and working?
  4. Any error messages on your modem?
  5. Have you tried to reboot your modem?
  6. Do you have other Bell services? E.g. Internet, Fibe TV, etc. If so, are they working?
  7. Have you tried to run the Bell Virtual Repair tool? Run Virtual Repair
  8. Have you contacted Bell Home phone tech support?

Thanks for your question . You can run the Virtual Repair Tool from the MyBell web or app. That will reboot the modem, among other things. If that does not work, you can call 1-866-310-2355 and ask for technical help.
