A couple of weeks ago my Bell 2000 router failed to provide either wired or wireless internet. Strangely the FIBE service continued to work fine so it was clearly in the router. Connected with a very skilled tech from Bell, and picked up the new router the same day. The new router worked great, except for a strange 'dead' spot for the WIFI. There was no dead spot with the previous unit, and the dead spot is on the same floor as the router. I easily resolved the issue myself by installing a repeater, with a different SSID, for those devices that were affected. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem.

I get the same thing.....sometimes deadspots where they didnt exist before and other times known deadspots disappear. Someone said large appliances can impact wifi and seasonal ones like AC and furnace can make it seem like a dead spot comes and goes.

Hey @Sledder, welcome to the Community. 🙂
It's really weird that you've noticed a dead spot after replacing your modem!
So glad to hear that you were able to resolve this by installing a repeater.
Thanks for your post.
