Hi,
I just had my Home Hub 3000 upgraded to a Giga Hub and we went from 1Gbs to 1.5Gbs.
Since we had the Giga Hub installed I've had issues with games on my PS5 beening extremely laggy. Fortnite and Pubg in particular. The speed is not an issue as we're getting above 100+ Mbps on the wifi. We never had issues using the wifi with the Home hub 3000. I now have it connected via ethernet cable and am getting speeds over 400 Mbps but am still getting the same issue with the lag and packet loss in the games.
I've rebooted everything multiple times and cleaned out the hard drive on the PS5 but that hasn't worked either.
Has anyone out there had a similar problem and solution?
Thanks!

Update:
I created a guest wifi and switched the PS5 to that and it seems to have solved the issue

Hi there @Uzair
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Are you able to share what modem you have?
Can you share pictures / screenshots of a speed test for both your modem and PS5?
Can you share your trace route results with time stamps?
Does this issue only occur during a certain time of day or is it all the time?
Have you tried our Virtual Repair Tool?
and if so, can you share the results?
We would also recommend checking out our article Want to get top Internet speed on your gaming console?

Looking forward to hearing back.

Thank you for your comments. While the modem may be an apparent obvious issue, gaming connectivity is more complex. Ping time is a key factor over which a user has no control. Focussing only on speed is also a rabbit hole. The fastest speed is no guarantee of a good gaming experience. Wireless connectivity is, by design, a poorer quality if connection for gaming, increasing lag. My point is that getting the most out of your gaming system is a process. It doesn’t happen easily at times. We can offer suggestions, but the solution is truly individual. .

I recently switched from Virgin to Bell for home internet. Upgrading to 1.5 gigs speed!
However, my ps5 has an extreme lag especially when playing FIFA 23!
Have tried troubleshooting, done whatever possible I could find online .. but to no avail!
Does anyone have a similar issue ? Any suggestions/ tips on how to make it work!
When I had Virgin, there was no lag at all, suddenly ever since i've got this activated, the lag has made it virtually impossible to play online

Hi there @irip_10, thanks for reaching out to the Bell Community.
Glad to hear you've completed some troubleshooting steps; can you share which steps you've taken so far?
Are you connected wirelessly or directly to your modem via Ethernet? If using a wireless connection we recommend using an Ethernet cable to see if that makes a difference.
If possible please also share a screen shot of your traceroute results so we can take a closer look.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

I don't understand how the guest wifi can solve the lagging issue. I have same problem after upgrading to giga hub, laggy while watching Youtube. Speed test shows perfect result. I'd like to learn more about your situation. Is your guest wifi on 2.4GHz or 5GHz band? How is it different than your main wifi? Did anyone from Bell give you any suggestion?
Thanks a lot!

Hi I have been getting latency/lagging issues with my PS5 fifa game after switching to Bell Fiber 1.5. Ping spikes from 28ms ping all the way to 1000ms. I tried different method - through Ethernet, disconnected other devices, reset modem. None of these work. All other devices have no issues at all…. I never had this issues before I switching to Bell from Rogers. Can anyone help me with this?

Hello,
I'm experiencing high lag/ping/latency in online gaming on ps5 with fc 24. It ranges from 35-70, my friend gets near to 20ms while the other one who uses Rogers gets even less in some cases.
I'm connected via Ethernet and have tried all sorts of solutions to improve ping but nothing helped. Even the chat support wasn't helpful at all and said it's your device problem lol. I've had this issue previously and done ISP settings were changed from backend which helped.
Can someone help with this or the only solution is to change the Internet?

This is just moving the problem away. I received my ps5 last week and I have the same issue on the Homehub 3000. When I connect the ps5 to the wired LAN, the router's processor usage goes to 100% and all other devices starts disconnecting, wifi becomes unavailable, etc... looks like the ps5 is doing a DDOS attack on the router.
When I disconnect from LAN and connect to private wifi, LAN devices are working normally but wifi devices are losing internet intermittently (PS5 hogging the private wifi) so I also moved it to the guest network for now to isolate the PS5 from the rest of the home devices but this is not normal.
Transfer speed is awful on all networks (around 40Mbps on LAN and 4 Mbps on wifi) it should be more than 10 times that speed in both cases so I think I have a defective PS5 and so do you. I will run more tests this week but I am about to return it to Sony for troubleshooting/repair. Since your post is dated from last year, I suppose you are out of warranty on yours unfortunately.

As a test, disable "whole home WiFi" in the wireless settings of your HH3000. Then split your WiFi up between a 2.4 and a 5 Ghz network.
This can be done under advanced settings, and disable the checkbox for "keep a common SSID and password". This way you can make 2 completely separate networks. Label them differently so you know what is what.
This will affect all your other wireless devices also, so only do this if you want to troubleshoot the WiFi connection.

Actually I want to use wired network for the PS5, I don't have any wifi issue as long as I don't put the PS5 on the same network. I will try to reset the PS5 to factory default and re-test, I was just replying to the original message about his solution that is not really a solution but just avoiding the original problem.

That is the best explanation of this issue! So I try some change in my router but nothing work. Each time the processor up to 100% during the speedtest on the PS5 and result is 34,7mbps.
I don’t know if it’s the console or the router. I will try the new Giga Hub next week!
