WebMail not keeping me signed in

It seems that the backend to the "Keep me signed in" checkbox isn't working properly since about Monday or Tuesday of this week I now have to sign in about 4 or 6 times a day.

I'm using an up to date Edge browser "Version 114.0.1823.58 (Official build) (64-bit)".

Any ideas?

Tnx...Paul...

Microsoft Edge Version 114.0.1823.58 was released on June 22, 2023. Here is a link to the update & release notes from Microsoft. Microsoft Edge release notes for Stable Channel | Microsoft Learn

I tested Bell Webmail ""Keep me signed in" checkbox" & it is saving the login information as it should.

I verified this in Edge v114.0.1823.58, in Google Chrome v114 & and in Apple Safari 16.5

I would suggest that you review your settings in Microsoft Edge > Privacy, search and services > Clear browsing data.

Check these settings: "Clear browsing data now" & "Choose what to clear every time you close the browser" and adjust accordingly.

The issue you mention coincides with the Version 114.0.1823.58 update release date.. (I was able to recreate your problem by having Edge clear my data when I chose to or whenever I closed my browser.)

There are countless pages of documentation on the web related this browser update. Most of it to do with bugs & fixes.

Thanks for the prompt reply and explanation.

The Edge cookies were set to auto clear every hour. I've moved that to 7 days for now.

Ever since bell made changes to their webmail a few weeks ago, I can no longer stay logged into my email on mt PC even though I tick off the box to keep me logged in. I called Bell support and they told me that they do not have a record of any changes to Bell mail and cannot help me. I know they made changes because there are definitely some differences in the application.

I trust this issue  is specific to your PC only? If so, are you using Windows 10?  Microsoft updated Edge on June 22, 2023. There have also been a number of Windows 10 updates & security changes over the last 4-6 weeks.

You might also Reset you settings for Edge & then select the Privacy, Search & Services you want and need.

I am using Windows 11 on an All-in-one  HP computer and do not have Microsoft Edge. I only started to have this problem when Bell made changes to bell webmail in the last couple of weeks.

Can you share with the community the browser you are using and the steps you have taken to correct? We need to know this to assist you!

Please check your windows settings, in particular your web browser settings. I am not sure what browser your are using but the issues with Edge  are the same with Chrome, etc. The Microsoft changes were not limited to Edge in Windows 10, but also Windows 11.

Have you tried logging in from another application? Device? Operating system?

Did you check your browser settings? Clear your cache? cookies? Reboot your system since doing any or all of the items that I mentioned in my earlier note? Have you reset whatever browser you are using to defaults?

Let us know...... we are here to help you!

Since Bell updated some of their features ago a couple of weeks ago, the "keep me logged in" doesn't keep me logged in...After about 1/2 hour (or less) of inactivity, I get logged out and need to log back in again.  This never happened before...Has this happened to any other users since the new layout a couple of weeks ago and if so, what are the solutions?

This happens on both my laptop and desktop...My desktop uses Firefox while I use Chrome & Edge on my laptop.  The issue is with same with both browsers.    It also occurs when I log in from different devices at clients.

I have rebooted numerous times on both computers.

I have the same issue. I tried all the things that were suggested but none of them resolved the issue. I have emailed  this problem to Bell and spoke to a supervisor today who is going to escalate this with senior techs. They are supposed to call me within a few days (probably workdays) and she is scheduled to follow up to make sure they call. I will mention that you also have this problem and will get back to you if and when they resolve this.

It is frustrating because when I originally called Bell support they denied that any changes were made to their email even though I could see that some things were different. Glad to see that somebody else agrees with me.

Hi there @evermore & @CWONT,

Welcome to the Bell Community, and thanks for your post.

This has been flagged to the appropriate team, and an investigation is underway.

When we receive an update we will let you know here.

Have a nice evening 🙂

- Patricia

Please keep me up to date on your progress...When this gets fixed (and if you feel comfortable sharing it), it would appreciated if you could provide the case number (if the Bell tech provided you with one).

This is also happening to me - doesn't matter which browser I use on the PC, it is also happening on my android devices - no matter which browser...
this has got to be a Bell problem as it's not specific to any certain browser or device...
Total pain!!

I spoke to someone higher up at Bell and she is supposed to escalate it. When and if they resolve it I will post here since there are now 3 or 4 people who have this problem.
